New Framers, by mltimer on Dec 16, 2006 19:31:53 GMT 1, A friend of mine has just taken over running an established framers.
I'm keen to support him, and I thought I ask on here what people expect and want from framers, apart from the obvious!
Would you also consider using an online company?
He also intends to do same day and/or next day framing - how long does it take at yours and would this be a deciding factor?
PM me if you don't want to post, all responses will be greatly appreciated.

New Framers, by corblimeylimey on Dec 16, 2006 21:20:18 GMT 1, My framer takes about 1 week, quicker would be better but my framer needs to order in certain frames/mounts and that's what takes half the time, it may not be wise for him to have that much stock kicking about but it would be good if he could order and receive supplies within 24hours.
I wish your mate good luck but I'm affraid I live too far from Bristol to be giving any custom, I wouldn't use an online framer.

New Framers, by Ågent ßacardi on Dec 17, 2006 2:41:25 GMT 1, I think online framing would not be a popular service, as there's going to be quite a ton of money involved with shipping, packing, insurance, etc... Even if the framing prices are attractive, they would likely be offset by all these factors. Plus, mailing back and forth is going to take even longer, when people can avoid the wait by simply driving to their nearest framer and pay a little more.
A 24-hour service would be awesome though! My framer usually takes a week. Some of the times he'll call me and tell me that it's ready a day earlier, but those occurrances are pretty rare.
Just my 2¢. Won't be getting any custom from me for sure - I'm practically on the other side of the globe! But the best of luck, all the same!

..............are who i use because I live nearby, they take around 3-4 weeks. I think the three most important things are quality, knowing what frame/mount will suit the print and the price.
