Mylar poster sleeves, by ricosg11 on Apr 19, 2007 22:59:57 GMT 1, Hey guys,
I had a few huuuge prints lying around in tubes waiting to be framed (applause, Judgement Day) and I wanted to be able to flatten them before going off to the framers (its gonna be awhile cause they are gonna cost a fortune). I couldnt find acid free mylar sleeves big enough anywhere...Until now.... They will only sell a minimum of 6 of each size but they have 40 x 50 inches and 40 x 60 inches with bound edges and curragated plastic backing boards that are pretty thick. The 40 x 50inch ones were $22usd each plus tax and stuff. The price put me off a little but I took the plunge and picked up 6 of the 40 x 50. Money well spent, I can finally look at the prints when I feel like it and they will be crisp and flat when I take them to be framed. Here is the link. They are in brooklyn, I went to pick em up myself.
www.jordanspecialty.com click on print sleeves, acid free. Thought some people may have been in my boat.

Yeah, I guess as long as the paper and printing is soft, it should be OK, but if the ink/paint has any sort of shine it might stick? Varnish that could also be a problem
