Hanging my print, by ohmygosh on Mar 11, 2008 15:04:32 GMT 1, I want to hang my Pop Tart in my flat but i live in a new build and all the walls apart from one (which has windows and no space anyway) are pretty much just plaster board.
The pop tart is quite big and heavy, anyone else had this problem and can anyone suggest a safe way to hang the picture securely on such a wall ?
any links etc
Much appreciated.

Hanging my print, by colonelkurtz on Mar 11, 2008 15:11:51 GMT 1, find where the wooden joists are in the wall (tapping the wall till it sounds solid!) and drill into the wood.... that should be a solid enough foundation.

Hanging my print, by philhowell77 on Mar 11, 2008 16:42:40 GMT 1, I too have a new build house, however using large picture hooks the type that nail into the wall at an angle are fine in plasterboard. I tend to use two on each picture. I have an applause on the wall hung this way.

Hanging my print, by Octopus UK on Mar 15, 2008 21:05:28 GMT 1, You can buy raw plugs that screw into the plasterboard. You can then screw a hook into the plug.

Hanging my print, by themightyreds on Mar 20, 2008 20:04:59 GMT 1, Or get the plasterboard screws that you drill a hole for, then when you screw in tightly it expands the metal casing behind the plaster. 2 of these should be ok for all but the heaviest frames.
