framing question - acrylic boxes?, by jonvespa on Jun 14, 2008 16:44:25 GMT 1, ive seen a few pieces framed in acrylic boxes on these boards. thinking about doing this for two nick walker og's (like 10"x10") and a murakami canvas print (16"x16").
i have a plastics place in los angeles that is building me a case for my peter gronquist chainsaw. they said they can build anything out of acrylic.
how should they build the frame for the art? do your frames open at the top? or unhook somehow from the back? also, how do you hang it? just drill holes in the back of the frame?
how large do you guys go? i mean, i have a miss bugs og canvas, but its like 36"x36" and a frame for that would just be ridiculous.
you guys use these frames for protection or looks? i just want the protection from the elements.
thanks, and apologies for using inches. the US basically denied the metric system back in the 70's for some odd reason. check out ATOM AND HIS PACKAGE "lord its hard to be happy when you're not) using the metric system" haha

framing question - acrylic boxes?, by Photoxtc on Jun 14, 2008 17:17:08 GMT 1, hey Jon, can you give me the name of the place?
I'm looking to have a case/box made for an OG item I have and have been trying to find a place to make something custom like that but with absolute perfection...

south bay plastics (310)320-8180 20814 south normandie, torrance, ca 90502
i paid $268 for a 32x13x12 box, fairly thick plastic, pretty reasonable all things considered.
