Not sure whether these are fake or whether someone has done a sneaky backdoor job. Don't POW outsource their printing?

Townsend05 claims to work for POW. From what I gather from a little looking on the net I think this is the sellers myspace page www.myspace.com/pinballwizard06 . No mention of working for POW there. Also his interests listed ways of making money a few days ago which has mysteriously vanished as of the 23rd.

Interesting print but if it's unsigned I imagine POW will have nothing to do with it rendering valuation problematic.

I know as much as the next man on here, and normally wouldn't bother to join in this kind of thread but i'm inclined to believe the guy selling them.

The fact he has had 3 recent POW prints and sold them as they are suggests that the story might be right - that these have fallen off the back of a press and been passed through a few pairs of hands and ended up on the bay.

I guess the guys running the presses at whoever does them (i'd tend to agree that they're outsourced, the quantities and level of quality control required for these now perhaps exceeds what POW could do in house) earn a pretty standard wage and normally print run of the mill stuff. So if one or two of them realise that what they're printing now is worth thousands of pounds one or two of the prints might vanish...

While it would be nice to think that quantities are all carefully controlled there is nothing to stop a few more being run off - and the fact that POW have been able to produce replacements for damaged prints shows that overs are produced at the time of printing.

So i'd say that these are real, and are like the old back door prints, and the main issue with this is how much are you willing to pay for a print that was done at the same time on the same stock but not part of the editionned collection?

And as for PC certification there's no chance they'll get it. POW can check if it's real very quickly but as it was never meant as part of the run they'd not certify it and so it would only ever be a nice piece of paper on your wall compared to an investment which is how some people see a banksy print.

Yes, it is pure speculation. I am not misleading anyone - meerly giving an opinion.

As i said i don't normally bother with this kind of thread but thought i'd add my two pence.

I think you'll see i say "I guess", "i'd say" and highlight the fact i know no more than anyone else - just left like giving my opinion.

I think anyone reading my comments would see them for what they are, just my opinion.

Saying something is fake could also be misleading.

ONLY The bloke that printed the Official run can say if he did this one or not. Anyway, it appears to have been taken down from ebay now.
