Remarkeble piece on the bay! Rostarr and Parla!, by linkd95 on Sept 13, 2009 21:57:31 GMT 1, Its definately genuine i think Parla should have done a bit more to it, as from my point of view it looks like Rostarr has only done it.

Remarkeble piece on the bay! Rostarr and Parla!, by mose on Sept 13, 2009 22:01:33 GMT 1, Yes, it is a collaboration by two very, very talented artists. But it is just not a good example of either artist's work, not indicative of their matured styles and the quality they produce now, and overall just not a good piece(IMO).
I'd rather save the money and put it toward a current work by either artist.

Also, it states in the title that it is "very rare" without stating the number in the edition.

Remarkeble piece on the bay! Rostarr and Parla!, by jam on Sept 14, 2009 17:47:49 GMT 1, This is a very weak piece plain and simple. (That said, I still can't believe Parla cheerleader extraordinaire RicoSG11/Dudebro17 hasn't been on to talk about what a monumental piece it is) I would imagine Jose is entirely against it being shown in the context of graffiti art, as he is trying to put such distance between himself and the movement that gave him recognition as EASE. Disappointing, the hypocrisy money brings to an artist's perception of his work.

Ironic you make such comments about Parla - coming from a guy who liked his work enough to buy an original from a gallery, had them rush it to you for some "special dinner party", only to flip it at Andipa.
And no I'm not riscosg/dudebro - just calling a spade a spade though.

Totally agree, plenty of others i would rather own, but that does not detract from it being a bit of history

Well; actually you're not calling a spade a spade in this case because your information is incorrect in nearly every facet. While it is true that I bought a piece from CG, there was never any mention of rushing it for any "dinner party". I have had many dealings with Acoris involving Banksy and Damien Hirst pieces, and a friend of mine was involved in putting together the show, so I I viewed loaning the piece as a favor to the both of them. The piece was indeed shown at Andipa, but it was on loan for the purposes of display and it was not sold through them. There is also are a few lengthy, accusatory and defaming emails from Jose/Christina directed toward Andipa that were entirely out of line and show the character of their authors.
Like it or not, Parla/Ease is graffiti relevant and owes his current career to those who found him through that relationship. The fact is, I own two large watercolors as well as two canvases so I do appreciate Parla's artistic ability... but I also happen to think his attitude toward people linking his work to street art is disappointingly pretentious.

Remarkeble piece on the bay! Rostarr and Parla!, by keysersoze on Sept 16, 2009 0:56:41 GMT 1, So the said piece was truly not sold through Andipa and remains in your collection?
That would give me some solace and I'll edit my post if so.
Regardless though, I think poor form to include in a group show without the consent of the artist/primary gallery - but that's just my opinion.
