Going Rate for Neates?, by Heavyconsumer on Sept 27, 2009 7:16:26 GMT 1, Not much of a market as such to go by these days, but my guess would be anything between ยฃ800 and ยฃ1100 for your choice of the above. Not too many seem to make it onto Ebay at 99p starts, presumably because some sellers are looking for at least cost back and they aren't confident they'll make it that way.

Going Rate for Neates?, by Deleted on Sept 27, 2009 7:52:00 GMT 1, I think that the prints have found homes personally and that's the reason you don't see many of them. You'll possibly get more of them on the market post the show who knows?
I reckon you'd get Deep End for a grand, the other's might be tricky to source.

I think you are right about them having found homes hence less being on the bay. I bought Deepend about 6 months ago, I'd wanted it since its release and ended up paying half what they had been going for (then again I probably paid 3x what a 2am Blog now goes for!). Calm Fear doesn't float my boat, but PWG is right up there with the best. Wish I had one ;D

Going Rate for Neates?, by hlarmy on Sept 27, 2009 8:08:21 GMT 1, They are all relatively low editions as well; I think you'll find that many of them were bought secondary for ยฃ1,500 - ยฃ2,500. I did this with my Deepend, Tea Drinker and Nothing on TV as I loved AN's work and the prints are very good quality. I would consider selling them (as none are yet framed) but to be honest I believe these have hit the bottom and will go up in price in the long term so would rather keep hold of them for now than sell for ยฃ1k

Going Rate for Neates?, by Heavyconsumer on Sept 28, 2009 4:32:22 GMT 1, It's interesting reading peoples' preferences in Neate prints. I know that a lot of people (such as EC above) don't love Calm Fear, but it's my personal favourite by a country mile. I think the wonderful thing about his prints is that they are pretty much all gorgeous! I'm not a lover of Cold War or Come On compared to his other prints, but if I had one of either, I'm sure it would make the wall sharpish, such is the beauty of his work and the quality of all his prints.

good post.
if you can source from an orig seller you might get a bargain. if you are hoping for to buy from someone who bought secondary then that'll be a different story.
the street 1000 ? - I thought they were substandard - but that's only imo. (I don't have one and will never buy one).

Going Rate for Neates?, by Cardiff on Sept 28, 2009 14:22:46 GMT 1, Thanks for the feedback...couple ?s...
It looks as if several people are mounting these w out a mat (I'm assuming that's due to the design of the prints-they almost look matted-combined w their size). How is this executed (are they float mounted very close to the edge?).
Having never seen a Deep End in person, is the base color more gray or blueish...very difficult to tell looking at PDFs.
Thanks again!

Going Rate for Neates?, by veralynn on Sept 28, 2009 18:15:48 GMT 1, Its bluey/grey!
I thought that would help!
Also, maybe give The Bigger Picture some consideration as it's a smaller run and (imo) frames better. In the flesh it's stunning.
If you've got a huge wall then Tritych's a gem, I sold one of these (for a loss!) and have regretted it ever since. (the sale, not the loss, well....erm...)..

Going Rate for Neates?, by sug on Sept 28, 2009 20:18:52 GMT 1, I loved Deep end until I noticed the long finger......freaks me out.
Come On is a much underrated print imo.......it is just a break from the norm and I think it works very well. Quite a powerfull piece as well. Come on was a photograph taken in East Ham .The recent teenage stabbings inspired him hence the 'do not cut' logo on his chest. The man /adolescent is standing in the playground with open arms to capture the transition for a teenager learning to survive in a dangerous environment. The figure is floating i.e. almost a ghost because he could potentially die any day in this environment. Hence the halo.

Going Rate for Neates?, by veralynn on Sept 28, 2009 21:37:30 GMT 1, Didn't realise that things had got that bad in East Ham, that you could die any day in that environment!
Intrigued by Daz's comment as I didn't get to see the original so was unaware of this. Prior to this info I thought that the gold leaf on the print itself was so much more vibrant than could eever be demonstrated in a photo!...
I do think that these prints are one for the future though - forum members always banging on about investment potential, take a step back and consider whether the greater 'investment' potential lies with Banksy or Neate? In the interim, stick em on the wall.....

the smallest is Calm Fear .. the largest are the SPs.
..and the TD is large in comparison with the others. (TRYP and BP are long .. of course)
-- if you're in search you'll need to figure this in for framing purposes.
There were a couple on the bay ( a few months back) framed by John Jones if my memory serves me right.
