Faile at Perry Rubenstein Gallery, by motor on Jul 2, 2009 15:38:24 GMT 1, But I'm skeptical of people chasing Faile and these galleries raising prices. I can't say but I wouldn't expect Faile's retail prices to actually go up in price just because of this. Laz had already pushed the retail prices up pretty high imo. I think this will more help their stature and keep pieces moving than their prices skyrocketing again.
Again, nice sober comment Snausages.

Faile at Perry Rubenstein Gallery, by urbanangel on Jul 2, 2009 15:39:26 GMT 1, Ah UA i apologise, what i should have said is The Faile Box was sold a while back before all this latest Faile news, sorry for any misunderstanding UA. I agree with Fielder, UA are good guys and still have some great work for sale on site!.
No worries...the jacked up comment was in reply to snausages comment, not yours. Sorry if that wasn't clear:)
I put a at the end anyway, as i wasn't trying to come across funny.
Thanks again for the nice comments.

Faile at Perry Rubenstein Gallery, by snausages on Jul 2, 2009 15:52:48 GMT 1, ...the jacked up comment was in reply to snausages comment, not yours. Sorry if that wasn't clear:) Sorry if my comment was taken the wrong way. Nothing personal, and I was on here pushing that Faile box and saying it was a great deal several weeks ago, even at the listed price. At under the listed price someone got a steal.
As for the jacked up comment it wasn't literal as I certainly didn't know the details of the transaction. But we've seen, numerous times over the past few years, 'urban' art galleries after a one off auction result or news like this raising prices. Sorry for assuming the worst in your case. And was really talking about all of these galleries as a whole, not just you. I hope they don't try to take advantage of this situation.

Hey...it's cool, don't worry. I've learnt to never take anything personal and I know you're one of the good guys:)
Saying that, the rest of the remaining pieces may go up if the sellers choose to do so, but that's out of my hands unfortunately. Still can't believe the Rampage never sold. I owned that personally a few years ago...it did the rounds and ended back with me again:) Frame was £500 alone!
It's all cool.
Good news for Faile I feel. They've pretty much exhausted the current client base, so the only way to continue to grow was to open up to a new clientele. I think it was a wise move, but I don't know anything about that particular gallery. At least it puts to bed all those rumours about Gagosian, Deitch, etc that were doing the rounds for a while last year.

Faile at Perry Rubenstein Gallery, by Daniel Silk on Jul 7, 2009 14:15:23 GMT 1, Good move by Faile I should think they were spending a bit more time dealing with orders from their own website than they would have liked so lets hope this opens up more time for them in the studio.

Faile at Perry Rubenstein Gallery, by jamesreeve5 on Jul 7, 2009 17:09:13 GMT 1, I think the gallery's influence will also be beneficial in limiting the output of Faile. No more supply gluts in the future.

Faile at Perry Rubenstein Gallery, by Simococo on Jul 7, 2009 19:16:48 GMT 1, i don't think anyone should be suprised by this move they were both art students so the chances were they would find themselves climbing the gallery system at some point its in their blood
