Banksy AP vs Numbered, by howlinjack on Nov 4, 2009 14:13:29 GMT 1, depends if the AP is completely different to the edition version. if its exactly the same no. if its visibly different like that jack & jill in pink then yes.

I don't know about Banksy but when you look at artists such as Peter Blake I know that the APs go for less than the original editions.
Having said that, I'd say an AP is more collectable.

Banksy AP vs Numbered, by howlinjack on Nov 4, 2009 17:31:04 GMT 1, where's the original post gone? posted by jacksong
this was the question: I'd be interested to know the thoughts on people here -
Would you say a Banksy AP is more collectable than a numbered, limited edition?

i wasnt talking about value. this was made a bit unclear by the original poster deleting the question. if the ap was the same in every way i wouldnt bother as opposed to if it was very different i would. thats my personal opinion from a collectors point of view

Banksy AP vs Numbered, by danmuppet on Nov 4, 2009 17:35:33 GMT 1, if i was offered an a/p from particular artists - at the right price- i would always jump at the chance! i do feel the a/ps that are coloured differently or handfinished etc are fantasic, i have a few mau mau a/ps and they are a different class! if the image is exactly the same but priced more i do not see the value in it!

Banksy AP vs Numbered, by jackson.earth on Nov 5, 2009 13:03:38 GMT 1, thanks for the info people, i guess in some forms A/Ps can be closer to originals but in majority of cases they're just left overs from the same print run as their numbered editions cousins and therefore are 'unlimited' in a way. cleared it up for me, i think - ta.
Sorry about deleting original post - clicked the wrong button!
just to confirm - i was talking about its collectability, not value - although i am trying to find out a value for insurance purposes - but that's been cleared up on another thread!
thanks.
