they've been buying them up at prices up to $1,000 so they can re-sell them to clients with $$$
i wonder if these 'clients' know they're getting a second hand print? or maybe icono destroys the second hand print & numbers a spare copy which are meant for damage/loss replacements

Totally missed it but considering the bad feelings all round, I am quite happy.

Shepard Fairey - Soup Can III, by snausages on Sept 9, 2009 19:50:08 GMT 1, it's about time christian disclosed the scales x @ $250 x @ $500 x @ $750 etc. there's a serious transparency issue here counter editions don't have a problem releasing this info, why does icono? the amount of family/friends christian probably disclosed the password to before hand would have near enough cleaned out the $250 prints nice one One of the problems is the pricing seems to be based on CART ADDS and not purchases. So if 50 people added it to their cart in the first 5 seconds, price increase happened instantly for EVERYONE, as the system probably said (okay, 50 have been sold so the print is $750)Proof that it's based on cart adds is the fact that the price keeps going up and down. Not sure if it would have been possible for ANYONE to get it at 250 if it was based on cart adds and not purchases.
I think you may be right here. They'll know once they sort out all the receipts. But they would never admit this if so.
And it would be nice to see how they break down the prices, although I don't know if I'd believe them anyway. Counter and numerous places use stepped pricing, but I don't know of any other places where the sell out price is 10X the opening price. Either way I still hate stepped pricing even when the increments are reasonable.
