Sickboy: Limited Edition Temple Washout, by shower on Jan 23, 2008 17:02:28 GMT 1, i like his stuff as it reminds me of the street. his stuff tends to be the same in his prints as his stuff on walls around shoreditch and thats why i enjoy some of it! brings the raw essence of graffiti on the street into your home. however i dont love it as much as many other artists and hence on my tight budget havnt purchased any yet!

I for one really like his work. His temples are instantly recognisable, always well executed and are pretty much everywhere in Shoreditch (As well as Bristol of course and Barca apparently) The guy has good can skills, he draws, paints, does quality prints and has even stepped up the mark and made a 3D version of his work! And he's a nice guy to top things off.

Its a really stunning print in the flesh.. the cut off top and the richness of the colours are very cool
The edition size of 8 and reasonable price makes this one of my best purchases in the last couple of months
I'm still waiting for my resin temple, but have been promised a print to compensate for the wait so am well happy to wait.. cant wait to see what the print is gonna be though!!!

the list goes on. they are the current heartbeat of the uk streetart scene, for me they represent the streets, and when i see the studio work it just reminds me of all there fantastic outdoor artworks, although i love alot of the rest, for me these guys really mean it, and they aren't afraid to contribute on the streets, and not just contribute so that they can flog a bit more studio work and jump on the "urban art" bandwagon. i can appreciate people who dont get it, but i found my way into all this through the street art itself and not the indoor stuff, now i love it all though! i reckon if you did a pole the same people who like and appreciate tox's tag will more than likely be the same cross-section that like sickboy et al. the repetition is all part of it, it mimics the repetition of the city, its just a visual tag. these guys are all qualified artists, there studio art is fantastic. its grime - - - its the streets!
