Banksy • Flag GOLD, by snakes on Mar 30, 2008 22:05:50 GMT 1, good luck with your sale deal and for your honesty (memories mean much more than a crappy piece of paper; especially when you can get so much '£' for the paper and still keep the memories)..
I hope you make lots of money from it which you can put to whatever purposes you choose.
Hmmm, now starting to think that maybe I should have used my BA miles for a quick return to Tel Aviv and got one myself!
Ps. jboy, don't forget your roots. It was only yesterday that we were flipping the odd cheeky print too remember!

Banksy • Flag GOLD, by deal on Mar 31, 2008 4:03:18 GMT 1, Hey Everyone. Just a few things to clear up, I guess.
No, I don't have any other names on this forum. I don't really understand where you're coming from, but maybe it's important to clarify that to some of you. Both Stuey09 and Alsbabar have been very nice and welcoming towards me. I think that maybe they'll vouch that I'm genuine.
As far as my description, yes, I most defiinitely was acting non-chalant in regards to calling it a "silly print". It's just that in comparison to the intensity of being there and the situation that the people in Palestine deal with every day, yes, it seem like relatively the print is silly. It is a piece of paper with ink on it, and we prescribe value to that. That's the tone and spirit in which the comment was meant. I was trying to express that I place value on my experiences, not my things. OK?
Now, as far as what I consider "important": Hand-Touched, One-Offs, Artist Proofs, Proofs of any kind, Original canvas, etc...
Currently looking for original work by Ron English, Lori Earley, Phil Frost, Jose Parla, Shawn Barber, anything that looks cool, and would be considered "important".

Well, I guess that may say why YOU went over there, to get some paper with ink on it, but I went over to see the artwork, experience the culture and hang out with old friends and make new ones. I picked up the print because the opportunity presented itself, and it was the only way that I could ever leverage myself into owning a Banksy...
Why are you acting so hostile towards me? Lighten up. Sheesh!

Banksy • Flag GOLD, by deal on Mar 31, 2008 15:49:16 GMT 1, Please, Comments should be constructive, or not at all. Thanks.
The entire community would be a better place if you all would remove this very unique form of hate from your hearts. It seems to be a very dark cloud over this forum. Why would you all want to be a part of such a negative community? Is it for the money? Of all the things that turn people mean and nasty, money does it best, so remember that!
I think that everyone here needs a dose of perspective... This is bar-none the most negative and hateful art-oriented forum I have ever experienced.
I wish you all the best, and I hope you all find happiness through your bickering, in-fighting, and hateful messages to each other.
The print remains for sale.

Banksy • Flag GOLD, by deal on Mar 31, 2008 23:31:30 GMT 1, None. I make plenty of my own donations to charities of my own choice, and I don't sell my art under false pretense. The suggestion that I as a private seller would do so is rather gauche, but whatever... I wouldn't expect you to be the expert on creative giving though, so no worries.
I'm not going to let you think you can get away with insinuating that simply because I'm not publicly[\I] donating proceeds from the sale of this print that I am a bad or greedy person.
I resent that implication wholeheartedly.
Opportunity and Greed are familiar bedfellows, but you mustn't get them confused.
The print is still for sale and the price is still $15K USD. More information available on request.

Banksy • Flag GOLD, by Heavyconsumer on Apr 1, 2008 1:03:10 GMT 1, Why are people giving this chap a rough ride? Sounds like they might just be bitter they can't afford the piece. $15k seems reasonable, considerring these have gone for as much as £12k recently. That aside, no-ones hard-selling anything here, why even post if you don't have anything constructive to say? Some members here really ought to put an extra step in their process before posting, it's commonly known as thinking.

I got no beef with anyone selling the prints from Bethlehem. I have beef with the absolute morons (no pun intended) who pay 15, 20 30 thousand dollars for these prints. If I had one of these prints I'd be passing it on to one of these fools as well. Gold Flags isn't even that great of a print and Trolleys is identical to the regular edition. What's everyone got their panties in a bunch for?

Note how it reads EDITION 500, 150 signed 350 unsigned. That's how it works. Flags is an edition of 1112, 112 signed, 1000 unsigned.
