Josh Keye's kills it again at his new exhibition at TagArt Gallery. I'm not one to post links to another forum but I can't figure an easy way to share these images as these are not made public yet. Josh actually posted them himself at Limited Addiction. Amazing pieces of work.

Josh Keyes New Sickness, by Filipino Box Spring Hog on Jan 31, 2008 6:45:32 GMT 1, I received the preview from Josh at like 3:30 am last night - it's sad for me as I was too far down on the list (I think) to get one - I called TagArt all day and emailed and tried to be a general obnoxious brat, in the most politest of ways, and haven't heard a peep - however, enough of my mellow drama - the pieces are amazing - really hoping beyond hope I'll be able to get an original one of these days - the good thing is all of his works from the past few shows are the sickness and they will most certainly remain in that vein and only get even better.

depends what you mean. he isnt doing commissions until 2010 and there are wait lists as long as your arm to get a piece. The TAG show had a wait list of over 100 ppl for 8 pieces of art! Props to TAG gallery though as some ppl tried to jump the Q buy offering to buy the whole show at inflated prices but the owner stuck to the 1st come, 1st served. Massive respect to that.

Josh Keyes New Sickness, by Young Squire on Jan 31, 2008 13:56:24 GMT 1, I didn't get my name on any of the lists until about a few months ago. But if you look around, including some of Josh's old show venues there are pieces to be found and deals to be made.
Some of his work is on loan and you can arrange to buy it on return. I found a thorough Google search and lots of speculative emails worked for me! I now have two original pieces in my colection, and my eye on a few more! ;D

Can someone explain to me the rationale behind his work? like why does he use animals and graff?

it's a juxtaposition between the urban enviroment and nature or natural enviroments. Graf being part of the urban enviroment but it's more of an illustration of how different the two worlds are... although we are still animals...and he shows this by taking wild animals and placing them in situations you would never see them in. See buffalo on a treadmill.
Damn i want one!

I heard back from them. Dave basically said that there was no mailing list, but an e-mail would be sent out soon regarding prints.

From Josh's website:
"My intention is to create work that asks questions about the implications of urban sprawl and its impact on the environment. I am interested in creating psychological narratives set in closed systems that express the behavior of and the interaction between humans and animals. The dystopian model creates a dynamic playing field where I can experiment with these ideas and forms. "
Though often steeped in satire, Josh's drawings and paintings are also suffused with a sincere admiration of our planet. His altered landscapes reveal both the intricacy of the earth as a system and the complexity of our response to the natural world, while retaining a sense of specificity and intimacy.

Josh Keyes New Sickness, by darjeeling on Feb 8, 2008 5:13:49 GMT 1, I have the suspicion that the same 10-20 people are at the top of all his waiting lists at this point. If they were savvy enough to get on one list months go I'm sure they've applied to the, all. I signed up on all the lists a few months ago and am pretty sure from what I've been told too late for all of the shows. probably. I bet it's going to be the same people at the top of all the show lists getting first dibs. Rather depressing.
I think it's really nice work but I'm still very surprised by how many people are into it. It's snowballing out of control it appears. And I'm especially surprised at how many people in the UK are drawn to paintings of old vandalized civil war monuments. Strange.
