Eelus, D*Face or Walker, by Ruggs on Jul 29, 2008 23:00:42 GMT 1, No. 2 at the start of the thread asks for artist(s) that have 'Raw ability'. That's why I put Mr Neate in there!

Eelus, D*Face or Walker, by bullet on Jul 29, 2008 23:45:40 GMT 1, i would not even class adam neate in this, its not even urban ary anymore in my opinion. i would move banksy to number 2, dface to 3 and dolk stays at 4 neates done as much work on the streets as most of these recently. you cant really call walker (recently) a prolific street painter.
As much as i can see where you are coming from slammer, if this was the case it begs the question why then Banksy is the first word, website, book, print, exhibition or street piece anyone brings up when you mutter the words urban artist.

? for one cos we are on a Banksy forum so its a good bet that hes gonna be numero uno whatever -- but by my reckoning Neate has done and is still doin more street work than all of the above put together so - IMO 1- Neate 2- os gemeos 3- blu 4- cyclops and sweet toof and sickboy ( joint position for these guys !)

Eelus, D*Face or Walker, by moleman on Jul 30, 2008 7:25:00 GMT 1, 1 Neate his work is great as originals, prints and street pieces which cant be said for some. He does work alot, last time on here what 3-4 weeks ago in brazil (which was well received). But i hope he has not damaged his carear by doing no more prints. I think that was done to make his originals worth more but he will get less focus in the public eye, so needs to be on the edge of two different art scenes.
2 Replete Hey its my choice when ever i see his work i am blown away by the skill if the images were iconic or contrversial you would rave your arse off about him.
3 Banksy is the first word because he is the one and only well managed man at laz he is a media machine ( do you really think one man can do a piece of art that big in one night without beeing seen on oxford street). He is number three (in this chart)and always will be. There is always one of an art genre and he is it walk through london and tell people you collect"urban art" and then say you know so and so they wont know who you mean till you say the big b. ( personally if i was buying to inverst that is where i would be i dont really like alot of his work but if you have low editions originals or canvases keep hold of those puppies. ' 4 I have no idea Faile are big in the states (and here)and if you can make it there your set bud look at obey new prints every week a sell out sign, number and sell done i dont think even banksy could do that week in week out. Just hope all works out for them cant see galleries not adding a bit on there work at shows as people are saying the last release was top whack. On that matter look at the tate print its good enough for one of the biggest galleries in the uk but not for some because its high edition and expensive. Flipper proof i thought art had to be and ill get one cheaper on the bay is all you hear. They are completely different statements coming from the same people and i thought you got what you liked ha ha. Or micallef would be nice a true talent but he brings out 1500 in a day or a print for a grand(stilll not sold out) and he was written off because he made the pow release enough for every one and laz stuff to much (another laz dig). Now look hardly any, if any prints to come and at what price will they be. The madness of this scene is driving it the wrong way. If banksy next release is edition of 1000 and what to beat the flippers as you like to say so much say 1500-2000 each is that fair. Thats a months salary for god sake i cant afford that and it would still sell out, and yet other artists would and have been slapped for that. makes micallefs edition of 400 at 1000 quid seem quite good when you think about it. Sorry jboy dface is done for the mo i hope he can prove me wrong for all his followers but he aint that big his work is nice but i like to talk or mail a majority of the artist i collect but i go to his show and have a look for sure. The only one in my opinion that i have left out and who i think i am not sure what the future hold (normally a good sign ) is nick walker tma sets (accept airways and hollywood ) are fantastic but some of his work is simple and lazy (not a large percent) and that lets him down but when he works hard on some thing like lts or some of the canvases ive seen wow.
