Who got the Adam Neate at christies today?, by edcase on Sept 16, 2008 14:52:38 GMT 1, Bloody phone bidder beat me at ยฃ3500. 
It was much more beatiful in the flesh, I originally was going to have a punt to 2k but when I saw it...
What you don't see in the catalogue is the texture but also the mouth and eyes are actually cut away into the corrugated cardboard. It was stunning, but with premium and vat the winning bid was knocking on 5k for which I'd rather get a matty small original.
FYI the pulp fiction went for ยฃ1800, the nick walker scalpel canvas for ยฃ800, and the vandals for the lower end of the estimate and not sure what the other two-sided neate went for as it was right after my lot and I was still reeling

I very much doubt that! Adam has developed as an artist at Elms and probably wouldn't be interested in the money and the attention in the first place. Damien was always attempting to do things differently, curating Freeze, being a major collector of art etc. Cutting out the dealers for this show was probably just a bit of fun, there's no suggestion he's left Jay Joplin and the White Cube. I doubt he'll do it again and I doubt many others will follow.

Yep, the bid price was ยฃ3500 and the next leap was to ยฃ4000 which was too rich for my blood once you add the extras.

if the buyer was an EU resident you would add VAT tax plus artist Resale Rights tax plus shipping. If the buyer was not an EU resident, there would be no VAT.

You know when you see something and fall in love with it and then it's gone? It's a shame you can see more of the detail on the picture where the card is cut away in various sections. It's only my second ever auction, my heart was going like the clappers!!
