What is fact, is that MBW, aka Thierry Guetta, is not Banksy and several artist have told me Banksy was not thrilled with how MBW conducted himself with the documentary.
For those wondering, here is what he looks like...
As for the rumor that Banksy aided MBW, I'll unravel it with what I know.
I've been told that Banksy wanted the footage MBW had of him back so he offered to direct the final part of MBWs movie. I do not have lots of details on this part of things, but I have heard Banksy did reacquire MBWs footage of him.
At the end of the day MBW is a very rich guy who wants to buy his way into the art world with very little talent.

i've heard that recently, and actually got some harsh criticism on another forum because i have a couple of recent pieces that just so happen to use the same 1950's image he has used, which when i used it i didn't even know he was already using it. well all i can say is that this style has been evident in my work for a very long time. tucked away in my archives are many examples exhibiting overlapping repeated stencil imagery along with my expressive strokes and spray paint. i do believe some people just haven't taken the time to go through my body of work. anything i'm doing now i have done in earlier years, i'm just now going back to some of it, its cyclical.
