Never fear, it is extremely well packed and the inside tube is bagged and well protected (the inside tube was not breached on mine).

José Parlá Print Release - Elms Lesters - 5th Dec, by howies on Dec 16, 2009 4:30:31 GMT 1, I picked up my 184th Street today, They are packaged extremely well , first is print wrapped in tissue paper then a perfectly fitting tube as quoted on side and top of tube " These tubes have been designed to fit the print precisely when rolled correctly, and not allow for any movement YOUR PRINT WAS PACKED IN PRISTINE CONDITION We would advise you allow your framer to remove it from the tube ", then it was in a clear plastic bag which was wrapped in thick foam like padding then placed in another strong tube.
I already knew Customs had opened tube but was hoping nothing else. but as I opened the outer tube i noticed that foam padding and clear plastic bag had both been cut to access inner tube. nooooo, and as expected when I opened inner tube the print had obviously been removed, for what reason? Now I could see already that the inner top corner was bent over ( see pic).  It's not the worse I have seen but still it shouldn't be there, It's only because of customs lack of care. probably being nosey due to the listed price of print.
Other then that I must say the detail and 3 layers of screenprinting on this make it look amazing and you really do get a concept of the depth of his OG as with each screen you can see the one under it, easily the best print I have ever seen IMHO. As I keep looking at it closely you see more and more, Well done Jose and Elms

It's hard to tell but the matte is a slight green to match the screened text. the frame is slightly metallic (dark greyish) with some distressed characteristics. my camera is having a hard time with the lighting in my kitchen to truly capture the colors.

the frame is perfect for this. it's a marbled black/copper wood frame.
i'm beside myself to say the least.

all conservation framing. acid free japanese hinges. i'm assuming they used linen tape for the hinges. all reversible from what i understand. doesn't really matter to me as they aren't leaving those frames and will be in my collection for a loooooooong time.

Despite being quite sceptical when they were first announced..i'm happy to say I was wrong and that the prints are cracking.
Expensive, but absolutely beautiful.
And luckily for me Fiona was sorting out the books for the VAT man when I was there, and due to people changing their minds about what print to go for which led to a slight miscalculation - there was one WTL spare...talk about being in the right place at the right time! ;D

I love it that all 3 prints seem to be reasonably equal in popularity. Without going back and counting everyone's peferences over the last 20 pages I would guess that the stats are something like:
35% - WTL
35% - St Giles
30% - 184th
Does that sound about right? (I can feel a poll coming on...)
