not a veteran off the forum by any means but hope people realise now is time for family etc... dont know how these prints will transfer but hoping be surprised...
i think rare chance to have something of beauty by an artist and hope success for gallery....
your all supporting the artist and think that is a good thing... cost of jose producing think closer to 480 mark and then gallery adds there 50% but for what it is.. think small chance to people that are lucky to purchase artwork from artist they love...
please dont think jose will pick up 250k from this release... not how galleries work... he could do 3-4 art pieces and would pick up how much he makes from this so i think is amazing that jose decided to do this.. had odd few conversations with the artist past few months and honestly someone i really do believe is humble... i know to new people joining forum hard to believe but he does appreciate art... he doesnt think of it as some type of monopoly to influence... he is just fortunate to produce art pieces that people love... i wish you all the very best of luck in getting any of the art pieces avaialble and hope in many years ahead dont think of it as investment but enjoy the art pieces as they are meant to be... everyone be happy and enjoy the next few weeks!...s

Just out of interest as people are discussing money for prints, how much were the last NW prints £400+? They were two colour and rubbish imo, not sure about the argument that everyone that works can afford £800 squid, but I love parla and this for me will be a rare opportunity to own a piece by an i artist respect and think will become maaaaasive! Just imo! Anyway as usual buy if you like, simple really! Peace MA
An interesting comparison may be the ratio between a NW print and a NW canvas Vs these Parla prints and a Parla canvas. My sums are NW print £500ish / canvas £7k ish Vs Parla print £800 / canvas £50k ish. There is a huge gap between the Parla print / canvas which imo makes the Parla prints a decent purchase. Don't forget also, that the Walker prints @ £500 were editions of 150.

They are expencsive but they are amazing too, considering the average prints that are pushed out at about the £400 -£500 mark, these are priced right
The prionts that Jose has released to date do not show the complexity of his layering and have focussed on his calligraphy, to put the two styles together has made his work really stand out IMO, you only have to look through the books layered days or cityscapes to see this
I think that putting out editions of 100 and pricing them at the price that they would sell for on Ebay is spot on, stops a flipping frenzy and tries to get the prints in the hands of collectors
I still havent fully decided which is fdor me, I have ruled out St Giles as it is too cold though

Do you mean per print? If so that sounds way way way over, you can get a top quality giclee print in that size for £80 for a single print, there must be a discount for doing 300 prints too. Say £20 for the screening on top and your looking at a max of £100 per print. If the gallery takes their 50% cut that leave poor old Jose with £105000, not bad for signing your name 300 times

unfortunately im at a wedding in norway that weekend so im not going to be able to make, so really hoping there'll be some left on monday. i spoke with elms yesterday and it's really not looking all that positive as it seems there's quite a bit of demand from overseas. shall be trying to persuade my brother to get down there and sort it out for me. a world touring letter for me i think.

I think Parla's work is too dark and too texturally based for their to be a fat white border around print. At least if he had signed on the image it may have framed out but as is it's too much.

I saved money for Nick Walker TMA moscow(missed that release -well didn't get picked at least), then I spent that money on a dave choe death blossom on the aftermarket and got it framed.
Or I'd have bought one of these parlas.
Hopefully I can get them at not toooo much over orignal price in a few months/years down the line- would love to own a parla piece.
