Beejoir exhibition, by spude on Feb 28, 2008 23:31:34 GMT 1, The show as regards to selling the prints was shambolic.Unbelievable i cant believe the way it was run. I ended getting there with the 4th person infront of me getting the last print. There definately was not 75 people in front of me but the queing system was a joke people where going to the front when given the option just to see the show however i m sure that they where managing to get prints. The actual show itself was really good and the pieces in there where fantastic

Hi Stuey, were you reading a paper (Guardian I think), wearing black jeans, sat on the floor at times etc.? If so I was quietly reading my book or on the phone stood in a green jacket one behind you.
Sorry should have said hi

Beejoir exhibition, by Curley on Feb 29, 2008 0:14:52 GMT 1, i'm just back, had far too many ales.
Huge turnout, very busy and some great art. Only took one picture as there were far too many people in the way. and yes its piss poor picture but i had had a few beers and im not sure Chris will like it but...
good to see the posse out in force esp my man Mammal, i left when Matt Small started wrestling with forum members in the smoking area. (think i had best leave that there actually for fear of libel) ;D
top night out.

Beejoir exhibition, by plasticfork on Feb 29, 2008 0:53:07 GMT 1, I took loads of pics but since I can't see all that well at the moment I'm not going to upload them then up them onto photobucket etc but trust me boys you missed nothing - on the whole it was lame. The tunes downstairs took me back but (barring the "no place like crack house" and "this is how we roll" and obviously the free beer) it wasn't worth going to - roll on adam neate. The aerosols downstairs were sloppy, the newspaper thing had been down before but much better.

It was quite a cute dog too! I was there all night, did not buy a print, have not put any on ebay and have had too many beers. I loved the show, beejoir, mau mau, cyclops and kate. All where better then expected!
The LV child Statue in copper. What a little beauty! The threesome pieces from Mau mau was his best IMO and Cyclops best was the "a word is also a picture of a word" piece!!
Great show, great people and good beer!!

Beejoir exhibition, by craigf on Feb 29, 2008 7:58:28 GMT 1, Shame about the instant flip and I don't remember the SBFO 125 prices ever hitting 4 four figures as included in the print description. Anyway whoever it is they stood in a queue investing time in the purchase rather than just hitting F5 on a pc so up to them.

They never did... but if people can talk up the prices of their print as it is a lo number then why not try this

Beejoir exhibition, by mcnuts on Feb 29, 2008 10:41:57 GMT 1, so far no comments on the art of the show.... anyone? Am I the only one who was let down by the show?
Seemed pretty stale to me. The Maumaus would have been better in a cheesy bar under black light with loud music (wait, they were like that last night). The cyclops stuff could be done with some graph paper, a sunday times magazine and bit of tape and the beejoir stuff (he is a nice guy, glad to see he is making money etc) but the pieces were well worn themes. Nothing fresh, paradigm shifting or really that interesting. And the roses... wtf? Did people actually buy those? I'm sorry, even a charity shop would put those in the bin, they were rubbish. I’d expect to see better art at high school art fair.
Me thinks some people buying are doing so either as a) bad investments or b) trying to buy a bit of street cred or perhaps c) were a bit drunk after too many cocktails

Mine must have been too many cocktails and the hotboxing of downstairs.
