Lady Aiko ๐ฏ๐ต Aiko Nakagawa โข New York Street Art, by jrallah on Aug 27, 2007 7:04:38 GMT 1,
For the past few months, there's been a good bit of talk about Aiko Nakagawa (the female third of Faile) wanting to spend more time focusing on her own solo projects. The subsequent www.ladyaiko.com popped up as a result.
Does anyone know if she's permanently left the collective though, or will she continue to produce with Faile and work individually at the same time?

she's left permanently according to Faile's last interview in Swindle

Lady Aiko ๐ฏ๐ต Aiko Nakagawa โข New York Street Art, by pelle on Aug 27, 2007 9:42:32 GMT 1, She had solo work at Laz' long before the 2006 ghetto. The girl with handgrenade canvas was on the website, labeled Faile but it was signed "Aiko".
About her leaving, she had become less and less involved with Faile during 2006 and she left at the end of the year to do her own thing.

absolutely. As part of the original barnstormer crew seeing his work for the first time up close was very impressive. The details are sick and most pieces are rather large. So large pieces w/detail = pricey. But over all very reasonable for what you get I believe.
Anyone know if he could be a wise investment? I'm really into the superflat style of Takamishi Murakami but his OG's are near impossible to obtain.

Ok, that's it for my free plug of the month...

I have some stuff from her Brooklyn show - really pleased with a mad bit of wood she did called "Fiesta" that is on my living room wall - 2 bunnies, a panda, ice cream, English and Japanese text and teddy bear transfers.

i picked up all three Dirty Linda pieces. super thick frames with design elements that wrap around the frames. They look sick without the need for any framing.

I'm getting the purple bunny - those canvasses look really good and they are pretty big, with lots of detail.

i work right down the street from lineage and have a great relationship with Josh so I get to see the stuff before the preview links go out. It's always hard to see the details from scanned images. I guess I have an unfair home field advantage I suppose

Someone off the forum sold me a piece very similar to #13 on the Lineage site but mines 60x40cm(ish) onto an old fashioned wooden door (rather than their 30x30 canvas) and I love it, one of my best purchases of the year. I'm really liking Aiko's stuff and will be interested to see what direction it heads in.
