Being at the show last night, I can tell you that these pieces are all EXTREMELY bright and glossy. Figured I'd give a heads up to people who are looking for something a bit more subtle (as they appear in the pics) or to people who like shiny things.

besides the one on State of Play magazine/website, which pieces aren't selling well? Not sarcasm, just wondering. I enjoy the work of hers that I've seen, especially with the rabbits.

She sold out a brooklyn, ny exhibit with bast (which he did not sell out) in less than an hour in presale. i have now seen 4 pieces from that show sitting on ebay for extended periods of time with no sale. an original from the show (listed by another forum member) is up there now for $1500 dollars, with no bites. She has a show that just came down in philidelphia, pa with lackluster sales. she had a show in spain in which nothing sold (as of when i had requested a pricelist) for prices of 2-3000 euros. there have been a few bunny prints (from a run of 6 and 8 varied editions (respectively) that did not sell past their set reserves.
Again.... i love the work. keeping mine. but are people not sharing this view? is she not creating enough buzz? maybe ill make it my mission to be her cheerleader....even if she doesnt answer my emails.

her solo work is just not good - sorry to be so blunt but hey theres so many great artists who are anonymous and who can't sell s*hit. She's got the faile hype and still can't "sell". Enough said...

I think 3000 euro prices are part of the reason

I went to the Aiko show at Adhoc. The stuff there was cheap as chips.
The pieces that turned up on the 'bay afterwards were massively more expensive. Plus the stuff from Iguapop was in another price bracket again.
Personally, I don't think she's doing anything out of the ordinary.
There's only so much appeal a Bunny can have.
Bit feminine for me.

I actually rather like Aiko's stuff - she's got some nice stencils and some strong, bold, colourful pieces. I've got a work on a blue wooden door (Fiesta from her NYC show that I went to) on my wall and I love it; its quirky, celebratory, a bit crazy.

I think one 'mistake' she made (and this might say more about us than her) is not to do more quality prints with someone like POW. Definitely her POW stuff was weak and, before i'd seen her other work, it totally put me off her.

Yeah I agree.
I can see what she gave to Faile and actually like her work. Have to agree though with the POW prints being simply OK, that was followed up by a bunny thing that Faile had done better, Kozyndan have a similar fetish...whats with the fluffy rodent???!! and the Giclee print was simply candy. IMO she needs a strong come back to this and I think she most certainly has the talent to do so....just like Morrisey

Well, I know the reason why she split with Faile and it is a pretty sad one.
No gossips but she was right to do it.

The point is that the two boys of Faile kept what she brought to the group but she can't decently make some "Faile" style on her own. That's logical but quite unfair...
