D*Face Pop Tart Print, by dslug on Feb 28, 2008 11:25:46 GMT 1, Im no expert but that looks like it happened on the printing side rather than poor handling or the like, try the BRP route first and see if they can help.I had to check my own copy after seeing your photo and thankfully it seems fine.

D*Face Pop Tart Print, by dslug on Feb 28, 2008 11:30:43 GMT 1, The recent DFace price rises will subside. I think he is a star and we will see a gradual rise in his prices offer a number of years. I firmly believe that. But the crazy prices people are looking to achieve today are not sustainable. This is a short term blip and I am not even confident that some of the prices that pieces are being sold at are being achieved. I hate private listing auction and distrust them completely. IMO
I agree with you to an extent about some of this but Why do you think this is a blip ? While dface might not be everyones cup of tea I still think that his work has every chance of some day rivaling the prices currently sought for older Banksy images.
On the private listings comment......Isnt it the case that over a certain amount like 300-400 all listings become private,it is ebay who do this and not the sellers.

D*Face Pop Tart Print, by waveydavey on Feb 28, 2008 11:57:47 GMT 1, I always enjoy a good bit of speculation over prices. To be honest I think the blip was before christmas where everything was as cheap as chips. Hopefully the same will happen this year and I can pick up a few bargains.

D*Face Pop Tart Print, by jonvespa on Feb 28, 2008 12:28:10 GMT 1, i emailed sarah from BRP and cc'd dface himself....neither have emailed me back quite yet.....no news is good news? both of them had emailed me back rather quickly in the past...
i asked if a). could i exchange for another print b). is there another print that i could pay extra for and use this as sort of a credit c). could i be put on a list for the next tart release (if there is one) and return this print to the seller
with such a small run of 35, i doubt they did too many extras (like in the banksy releases), but who knows, doesnt hurt to try...
thank you all for your suggestions and thoughts....

D*Face Pop Tart Print, by Harveyn on Feb 28, 2008 12:39:03 GMT 1, graeme501 / dslug - It is only my opinion.
Do not get me wrong when I say blip. I am taking about opportunistic selling of pieces at three times the value after one event (Bonhams).
I think these prices will come back down to something more realistic and then start slow growth again as experienced during the course of 2007 with Dfaces work. I can not be sure of this. These are just my thoughts.
My reference to blip in no way refers to the longevity of Dface's career and his ultimate success. I am a massive fan and have two originals and several other pieces.

i wasnt asking for a refund, but a trade....i heard that POW makes extra prints to account for damaged ones...plus, i would compensate BRP for the trade as well...i just want the print at this point, as im prepared to invest a bit more money to make it happen....

D*Face Pop Tart Print, by biggayal on Feb 28, 2008 16:23:57 GMT 1, Good luck in your quest jonvespa - it's a beauty of a print! As good as BRP are to deal with, I seriously doubt that you'll get much joy out of them in your current dilema. Think it might be a case for a refund or repair job..... All the best though...

D*Face Pop Tart Print, by jonvespa on Feb 28, 2008 16:28:50 GMT 1, no go on repair, i spoke to a very qualified place out of beverly hills that does museum pieces, cant do anything, said the ink might literally flake off when they try and flatten...
another strange idea i had to was actually frame the piece starting just above the damage, the signatures wont be on display, but i dont care about that anyways.

D*Face Pop Tart Print, by alvington89 on Mar 6, 2008 10:25:33 GMT 1, In my view this will seem like a very good price in a years time. It was only an edition of 125 and as we are seeing now, the supply of these on the secondary market is drying up, whereas interest in DFace is picking up momentum. A very nice print and bound to increase in value over the long term.
