D*FACE IN THE TELEGRAPH / AGUILERA , by ed on Oct 7, 2008 20:47:03 GMT 1, i think its a generally positive write-up in the telegraph, a widely read newspaper and its good to see him gettin coverage somewhere other than the internet!!! ok, so maybe someone a bit less, errrr, <insert comment here> than aguilera buying his stuff would make it a bit better.
I don;t think this arguement about the illegality of his work is particularly relevant. Its fact that in the past he's done street work, so what if most of the stuff he does now isn't....thats cos he's moved forward and can get paid to do it legally.
if it was a choice between goin out at 4am and going to my studio at 11am.....i know which one i'd pick everytime.
As a fan of D i am reallllllly happy that he's getting some positive attention, and as fans of street art / art why are people being down on a street artist being seen as a legit artist and not some oik who should be thrown in the nick.

DFace has gone to great lengths to pull this off and he personally oversaw the whole thing. As for Aguilera, I think she must have pretty decent taste as she was supposed to have bought the 'apocalypse now' piece which I thought was one of the best pieces of the show. I certainly would have considered buying it given the chance.

I kind of agree with you on this one. Whether you like Dface or not, or any other artist that they represent, you have to admit that BRP and Mike are masters of spin and PR.
Of course it's part of the game, and everyone does it but they are a few steps ahead of any gallery when it comes to hype before and after the show (till they sell every single piece they've got)....
Just wonder how long before all AP's and "panamababes stock" becomes available on ebay. And yes, if anyone wants to buy it or flip it - fair play - and I am sure they will not mind as they advertise themselves on ebay as well.
