Nick Walker Laser Show, by quicksnap on Apr 14, 2008 8:58:55 GMT 1, i think that means i can't afford a Nick Walker print this time around. damn. i was hoping it would be a bit more like 250-300 pounds. wishful thinking.

Nick Walker Laser Show, by mocksy on Apr 14, 2008 9:11:45 GMT 1, 800 prints in total?
75 for the people at the show and the rest online?
That means around 725 to be split between the 2 online releases, sounds like they are going to be quite big editions to his previous ones.
Maybe one will be un-signed?

There won't be 800, doesn't say that anywhere. I think 375 prints (150 x 2 + 75)
I notice Harveyn's comment went unseen by everyone on here, well, uncommented about at least... it's amazing how quickly some people seem to lose their grounding...

I read with interest what Harveyn wrote on the other walker thread. Seems he's been snubbed in the current hype-filled climate.......if this is the case it a real shame. I think from the little i know about Harveyn its poeple like him who help new artists get noriced and collected........

The Vandal in a non-Vandalising shocker...
After having time to think about this I don't like the laser show idea, what's next, Banksy gives up painting the streets to just project his images on to buildings for a few minutes instead...
It's all very Disney World

Nick Walker Laser Show, by doublehelix on Apr 14, 2008 16:57:33 GMT 1, This is a great stunt, reminiscent of the Gail Porter projection on the Houses of Parliament done by Cunning Stunts many years ago. I can't wait to see the footage romanywg. You're getting some great access, well done! Hope you get some nice still shots of it/them as well.

Personally I think it's an awful, contrived "stunt" - more a show than a stunt really... You just need jaunty music playing in the background and 7 dwarves dancing in the foreground and you're away!
I hope I'm proven wrong though and it is something special...
From WK - a little harsh in places... but the sentiment is the same:

Hi Mike, I think if it's done well it would be a way of achieving the image in the artwork in real like, I find that idea very appealing. I love the idea of seeing the Houses of Parliament covered in paint like it is in the artwork. Question is, will there be a bowler hat involved?

Like I said, I hope I'm proven wrong and it is something special... but it could be spectacularly cheesy... Why would someone who has worked very hard and got their break do something straight after that could make them look decidedly amateurish... it just screams FHM to me

Nick Walker Laser Show, by slowmo on Apr 14, 2008 17:19:02 GMT 1, I would hazard a PR company at work, makes great coverage, can be broadcast live or on image and is sure to get plenty of media attention. I am quite looking forward to it, interested to see Romany's footage.
I was also pleasantly surprised at the pricing of the prints.

Depends on what they are
I saw London TMA and loved it, one of my favourite works in a long time. Unfortunately I missed out on it. I took a couple of Hollywood TMA in swaps and don't like it at all... but there are a couple of images from his last show I really like, if it is one of them I'm going to try for it ;D

Nick Walker Laser Show, by Heavyconsumer on Apr 14, 2008 17:58:04 GMT 1, I was really let down with Hollywood. So many amazing urban views in this world, the fvcking Hollywood sign! I felt it was an artistic opportunity wasted! I know many will love it and I do love the London and Bristol TMAs, but not the last one. I would not want that on my wall. Mind you, Nick spent a while living in the US and it could hold some meaning for him.

I'm in the US, and I love the Holloywood one. Perfect symbol to vandalize. I'm glad he didn't do the Statue of Liberty, but the White House and the Wall Street Bull would have been nice too...
Actually, the more I think of it, a Wall Street scene with a painted Bull would be epic.
