If one of the top four were to slip down next season, who do ye think it will be? Will Man U fall apart? (Sigh...  )

Top Four threats??, by elwheel on Jun 21, 2009 12:13:06 GMT 1, Footyball it is wizzy. Looks like theres some interesting wheeling and dealing going on and 'lack' of it with Liverpool and Chelsea. I reckon Tevez will be in a City shirt sometime next week, Toure will arrive from Arsenal before the end of June and maybe Eto too. With Bojinov and Petrov coming out of a long injury spell and getting back to full fitness I reckon simococo is right - top four beckons. Not sure if Arsenal will drop though - could be Liverpool if finance is dictating matters.

He is saying that not only has the Tevez deal been signed, eto negotiations are very advanced and that lescott will most likely be coming from Everton along with Toure from the gunners, they have been making considerable headway with persuading their first choice .... drum roll... I always try to be positive and never get into verbal duels with members who know a lot more about religion, politics, art, and world history than me. Over the past few years there have been several derogatory statements made about Israel and Jews on this forum and I have purposely chosen to keep my opinions to myself and focus on the discussions about art. With that said this thread about the "Top Four Threats" and writing that JEWS are on the list needs be addressed. As one of the few members of this forum of the Jewish faith I am offended by those comments and hope people think twice before they spew their anti semitic venim on a public forum.
Get a bloody grip. It was a direct quote from a comedy programme shown every night on bbc2 and weekly on fox in the US, in which comments about jewish, black, muslim, disabled, female, christian, in fact more or less everyone are poked fun at by a stupid ignorant fat guy. Murdoch seems ok with it as do the director general of the bbc as for that matter do millions of fans worldwide. Maybe you should complain to them too?

league will be a straight fight between Chelsea / United and I have a horrible feeling that Chelsea will sneak it. Liverpool 3rd, too much unrest with Alonso / Mascherano, not enough depth in the squad and Benitez can't resist to tinker.
As for City coming 4th / fifth I canot see City delivering above Arsenal or Everton.
Oerly top heavy in forwards (and the accompanying ego's that they now have clashing in the dressing room), no balance as a result, not enough throughout the rest of the team, and where's teh team spirit that comes from working together. Small changes in playing personel can be eased into a succesful squad to improve year on year. Wholesale change doesn't allow for this.
Yes I'm sure City will hammer a couple of sides at home, but they'll have more cold, wet away days at places like Stoke, Burnley, Wigan, Blackburn, Portsmouth where they just don't fancy it and fall flat.
I for one will be laying City coming top W/O the big 4, and only hope that the odds get more favourable as the groundless hysteria increases in the City camp
