Republic of Ireland - World Cup 2010, by Daniel Silk on Nov 30, 2009 18:56:38 GMT 1, Why not let them go to the World Cup, get them to play France a week before the other games, and whoever wins the match carries on in the tournament
That way both teams have got to the World Cup, and they are also replaying the match.

Republic of Ireland - World Cup 2010, by junta on Nov 30, 2009 19:14:28 GMT 1, A request thats likely to be turned down. The world cup is sponsored by adidas, theres more pressure to see adidas teams (France) in it. Also France attract higher viewership and hence revenue. I'd like to see a replay, I think it would be the fairest thing, given FIFA's mantra of "fair play" for this world cup. I don't think we'd win, but we deserve the chance. Don't think it'l happen though...

We'll the talk did fade away till you dug up the thread. Slow news week I guess. You gotta figure we are entitled to piss and moan just like anyone else would though? I'm fairly over it anyway.
