OT: Tevez's Mum Visits Him Training at Carrington, by bert on Nov 19, 2008 14:01:21 GMT 1, The major issue with having Pele above Maradona is that while Pele won 3 out of the 4 world cups he played in he was in the best squad for them by a way.
That's an arguement for as well though - at the age of 17 he made it into, played and scored goals in a squad that at the time was the world's greatest. If given the chance, perhaps he could have influenced a lessor team in the same way Maradonna did.
It's very hard to debate though, the game has changed so much that it's very tricky to compare, particularly as I think defenders and goalkeepers have improved with time - against modern tatics and against fitter, quicker defenders, who knows if Pele and Best could have competed in the same way that Zidane and Ronaldo did.

Agree that it is entirely subjective. Whether any of them would have had the same impact today is debatable

Pele may have something to say about that He'd be wrong though... 1. Maradona 2. Best 3. Pele Wrong my ar5e. Pele never felt the need to score goals with his hands! Maradonna has let himself down on and off the pitch so he can never be the greatest footballer. As for Best, a club legend all right but not on the international stage.

OT: Tevez's Mum Visits Him Training at Carrington, by veralynn on Nov 19, 2008 21:35:03 GMT 1, Bergkamp was a legend - total footballer. And I fucking hate Arsenal after sitting between two gooners at work for 10 years.....
Nowadays would we consider how people on 'fuck off' money conduct themselves off the field also? If so Ryan Giggs would have to have a mention. Consumate professional.

OT: Tevez's Mum Visits Him Training at Carrington, by Deleted on Nov 19, 2008 22:17:36 GMT 1, He looks even more similar when she smiles!! So proud!
The hand of god and the teeth of redrum ;D , and what about this bloke: Alfredo di Stefano (Argentina)
Position: All round
Considered by many as the greatest player of all time. He was a player with extraordinary versatility and incredible stamina. Although generally referred to as a centre-forward, he played in defence, midfield and the forward line.
Di Stefano was the inspiration behind Real Madrid's five successive European Cups. He scored a goal in each of the first four finals and a hat-trick in the fifth, which resulted in a 7-3 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
His amazing fitness allowed him to be defending one moment and pop up on the edge of the opposition's area to score a goal the next.
He played for both Argentina and Spain, but for various reasons beyond his control, never made it to a World Cup final.
Who do you think is the best British players since 1980 is Rush Keegan Fowler Shearer Andy Cole Gascoigne or maybe Scott Carson ?
