Time to sack Venger, by manchestermike on Mar 23, 2008 23:40:51 GMT 1, Sack Arsene... you may not be aware of this but Arsenal get by on ยฃ50 a week donated by the Salvation Army and the African branch of the YMCA. Amazingly, none of their players receive wages - it's all done on a volunteer basis. Their 60k seater stadium was built by magic fairies, some of whom are kind enough to also play for the first XI. They of course charge no entrance fees, instead asking that the fans remain quiet throughout the game. Wonderful what can be done on a shoe-string budget, let us all congratulate Arsenal for winning nothing yet again and doing it so frugally.

Time to sack Venger, by mcster on Mar 25, 2008 9:26:46 GMT 1, Without a doubt the best season in the Prem yet, close at the top and all the teams left in the mix are capable. Man U still to play Arsenal and Chelsea, Arsenal still to play Liverpool too, so some great games left. I don't want it to end, although the girlfriend is looking forward to not having to plan her weekend around whether I'm at football or not...

Time to sack Venger, by flypitcher on Mar 26, 2008 17:52:10 GMT 1, Listen kids the facts speak for themselves. Arsenal have not won anything for FOUR YEARS.NOTHING. ABSDOLUTELY NOTHING. THEY WILL WIN NOTHING THIS SEASON. His knowledge of tactics and how to close a game against weaker sides is non existent. He is lucky that Arsenal are small club. If he was at any of the giants he would be out on his arse.

Time to sack Venger, by lover on Mar 26, 2008 18:26:22 GMT 1, Just look at his success in the transfer market. Possibly the only manager in the prem league to be in profit or at least very near to it. Arsenal seem to have gone down hill since the Eduardo incident. Possibly hurt them as a team, morale etc. To sat get rid of Wenger is one of the worst pieces of advice i have ever heard. Unfortunately with other clubs their is no such thing as building for the future.....

Time to sack Venger, by bullet on Mar 26, 2008 18:46:04 GMT 1, what a backward statement 'Arsenal are a small club'
who is then liverpool? dont make me laugh!
65,000 seater stadium sold out, making aprofit of ยฃ3m a match which is more than any team in the premiership after man u profit wise and the 4th wealthiest club in the world.
people that support teams like liverpool, spurs etc should realise that THEY are not big teams....

Time to sack Venger, by Heavyconsumer on Mar 26, 2008 19:09:06 GMT 1, JBOY, sounds like you're a gooner. I'm with the smaller and less successful half of N.London - not commenting to incite hatred or an argument!
But get your facts straight mate. Arsenal do not make ยฃ3m profit per match. Far from it. Their HOME gate receipts total ยฃ2.9m. Their AWAY gate receipts total ? I'm pretty sure that staging a Premier League football match at the Emirates is not free and that the huge staff all need to be paid, not to mention all the other matchday costs and interest on the stadium as it's financed to the hilt! And so far as selling out goes, you couldn't sell out a North London Derby for a semi-final match.
Jealous? you may ask. The answer is yes, very! ?A big club? Well once apon a time maybe not, but most sadly now one of the biggest worldwide, regardless of how you choose to measure size! I hate your lot, but respect where respect is due. However I think you're just being a cheeky bastard by suggesting Liverpool are not a big club. 2 Champions league finals in 3 years (maybe soon to be 3 in 4), and I'd suggest that the scum have a long way to go before you can claim to have contributed as much as Liverpool. They have been at the top for over 30 years. Besides, one thing I will never envy, little compensation as it is, is this new fad for going a whole season with hardly an English head appearing for the club in the league. Say what you will, this cannot be good for our game however you look at it or want to twist things. Point is, if you're gonna state facts, get them right and don't talk out your arse. It wasn't soooo long ago at all that Spurs had a much bigger supporter base than your lot and there's no reason to believe things will always be this way.

Every home match is sold out...
carling cup is a micky mouse trophy...
ยฃ2.9m or ยฃ3m whats the difference, it was a fact recently among premier league / europe clubs that arsenal make the most profit from their home matches (after paying tom dick and harry the pie man)

Time to sack Venger, by onemandown72 on Mar 26, 2008 19:53:38 GMT 1, Season hasn't ended yet, and I can't remember any Arsenal fans complaining when the same tactics employed by Wenger were winning them trophies. No club has a right to win anything, and sacking managers who do so is the fastest route to failure. Wenger is recognised as nurturing top quality, young talent that can play some of the most entertaining football in Europe. Not an Arsenal fan by any stretch of the imagination, and all managers do have a shelf life and need to move on, but to measure a manager in such black and white terms is very naive

arsenal are now a big club in england (thanks in the main to wenger & fizsman),but still relatively small in europe, liverpool have spent more than a decade underachieving in england, so are seen here as a sleeping giant by most, but in europe, they would be mentioned in the same bracket as real, ac barca, etc, also, did you notice the generous exchange rate the media used when compiling the list, do the math again, you might find you've slid down the league a bit.
