If I was a Newcastle fan I'd echo those sentiments... an absolutely dreadful appointment. He cracked as a much younger man and he's expected to perform again...
Very strange, and ultimately I imagine a very bad appointment

Have to agree with that Michael. I have to say he was a legend at City when we had him in div 1 but outside that he was a complete disaster and I was happy to see him go. This smacks of fan-appeasement to me and certainly not any sort of measure to get the best out of a load of underperforming players. Hmmm... Keegan and Barton together again. Very interesting.

Seriously he could have been shot and we would still be being kind to him! Playing every one out of positions and playing long ball to 5ft players!
I had to sit through this season and trust me he HAD to go! ;D

I agree.
I am so chuffed Kev's back, I think the lift it's given the fans will lift the players.
On the + side if anyones going to get the best out of players like Emre and Duff it's going to be Keegan + hopefully we can get some business done before the end of January! ;D

Newcastle's new manager, by Curley on Jan 16, 2008 18:40:42 GMT 1, Call it what you want, rose tinted specs whatever....... this guy took Newcastle closer to any success the club has seen in 50 years with great style and flair football. Will never forget the day we beat Man utd 5 -1 at old Trafford.
i, as a Newcastle fan through and through think was the only option open to us to win back the supporters. This way i hope we will see Shearer come in as No2 to Keegan.
ill bet the Stoke game will be a cracker tonight. ;D

Newcastle's new manager, by mikeinfected on Jan 16, 2008 18:52:08 GMT 1, Don't get me wrong I love the appointment, one more team guaranteed to finish lower than West Ham, another 500K, another injury prone miscreant for Curbs (what price Joey Barton to West Ham ?).
Just feel sorry for the Geordies, Newcastle is a great city (Planet Earth, best indie disco...ever) and deserves a decent team.

Newcastle's new manager, by Nuno on Jan 16, 2008 18:54:32 GMT 1, I cant see keegan being the man for the job either, but atleast he will get a fair chance of turning things around.

Newcastle's new manager, by mikeinfected on Jan 16, 2008 19:21:04 GMT 1, He does like his traditional battling English strikers doesn't he ? What's the bet first signing...Dean Ashton - 25 M, throw in Anton for 40 M ?
Or James Beattie for 12 M ?
oh the mind does indeed boggle sometimes.

Just heard that Keegan wants Beardsly and Cole as his first signings!! ;D
Best Newcastle pairing in history IMO!!!
No Way ;D!! the Best Newcastle pairing in history had to be Asprilla and Ferdinand....he made 72 league appearances for the club scoring 45 goals, one of the best games to goal rations the premiership has ever witnessed. In 1997 ..just a shame we can't score that amount goals now

albert scored that chip from 25yds over schmeichel, but was that at St james'?!
That was at St. James...
Since then United have beat Newcastle by the following scores: 5-1 5-3 6-2 4-1 6-0 plus numerous other scores... yet we still hear about the 5-0 there... still, who won the league that season

Daniel Silk โข The number or Boards and Threads continues to fall as we simplify the layout of the forum.
Daniel Silk โข I hear a lot of Artists complaining about Instagram in the past year, how it used to be a good tool for Artists, but it's not good anymore, is that true?
anyaart โข For Brett Kern fans, I noticed there is a spinosaurus for sale on E-Bay. It's a limited edition, one of only 60 made. This is the rarest of his dinosaurs. I am not the seller. I already have the same dino purchased in 2016. I've never seen one up for sale
Daniel Silk โข Apology โข Sorry I have been offline this past few weeks, due to a very bad Fever. I'm slowly getting better, step by step, and catching up with things here on the forum on the days I'm well enough. Thank you for your understanding.
Boy Wonder โข I read that they were more or less nicked the same day they went up. Loads of fakes exist.
milou2 โข Would love to see any photos of Banksy's first exhibition at the Severnshed in Bristol (2000). Who was there?*
jirr โข Hi all, over here in the states. Pandemic put me out of business, need to sell this asap. Please send offers thanks so much
matgab โข Steven Harrington - Gotcha first ed for sale.
1nkling โข I can't help but think that a more reasonable tier for people who just want to support the work you guys do would raise more income. Then other tiers for those that want specialist benefits.
1nkling โข As soon as I saw the heading for the email I thought 'Oh yeah, I use that place a lot. I'd happily support it'. Not at ยฃ40 a month though. I have a paid sub for a Formula 1 site I use that is very active. They have a high uptake on subs at ยฃ12 a year.
1nkling โข Pricing on the new supporters sub seems a bit poorly thought out. ยฃ40 a month to have a pinned sale thread being the only listed benefit?
Daniel Silk โข The forum now has more than half the number of Boards than it had a year ago! As we work towards simplifying the layout.
ashj52 โข Hi everyone; does anyone know where I may be able to find a George condo prism print? Any guidance on price would also be much appreciated! I contacted AA, they said they cannot disclose whether there will be any further drops this year.
