Africa Cup of Nations, by manchestermike on Jan 21, 2008 15:19:54 GMT 1, Also on Eurosport
I think a lot of the teams are over-rated and this could be won by a lesser known/rated side...
I've backed Morocco (19/1), Mali (22/1), Angola (79/1) and Zambia (175/1) outright and expect one of them (at least) to have a decent run... Nigeria are poor, they're all attack and nothing else, Cameroon past it, Egypt are good at the back, but toothless upfront. Ghana have been priced too short due to home advantage but Ivory Coast are probably fair favourites (can't justify backing them at under 4/1 in this though)...
The standard can be up and down but in general is pretty good, although why Guinea didn't start playing until 1-0 down yesterday is beyond me... Also obvious now the ref will favour the home side from what I saw... worth keeping in mind.
As for today's games: Morocco should put at least a couple past Namibia, and probably keep a clean sheet - I'd imagine 3-0 If Mali actually have their game heads on they won't be troubled by Benin and could easily win by a couple - 3-1 Ivory Coast should have too much for the over-rated Nigeria and although it could be a nervy start should win - 2-1
As well as the outright bets today I've backed Mali -0.75 Morocco to be winning at half time and full time, also 2-0 and 3-0 I'm probably going to back Ivory Coast too And I have a treble on Mali to win, Morocco to win, Nigeria not to win
;D

It's a tough one to be honest, not too sure how I'm going to play it. I get a feeling that Villa could beat Liverpool tonight but it's hard to find any stats that support the theory. Villa have a good away record though and Liverpool are pretty indifferent at home.
Villa +1 is available at about 10/11ish maybe a bit less, meaning it's a winner if Villa draw or win, and you get the stake back if they only lose by 1 goal... only losing if Liverpool win by 2 or more... If I'm playing tonight this would probably be my bet

At least they have cut the grass for this match should be a bit more of a faster game today ;D

Africa Cup of Nations, by manchestermike on Jan 21, 2008 23:10:13 GMT 1, I did ok, had Morocco HT/FT as a win, Mali -0.75 won, Ivory Coast won, my treble won and my Villa +1 at over evens in the end won... just the 2-0 and 3-0 small ones didn't
Nice night indeed ;D
