Be afraid, be very afraid, by a4mnt on Sept 2, 2007 11:38:04 GMT 1, I'd be interested to hear any rival fans comments on Liverpool's title chances this year - particularly if you watched us knock 6 past Derby on MOTD last night?
Fair enough, it was derby, but its not very often that 6 get scored in the premiership. After years of waiting (been a Liverpool fan for over 30 years), this year they are looking fine.

Be afraid, be very afraid, by Strange Al on Sept 2, 2007 11:59:55 GMT 1, Can't argue with you there. The Reds have looked awesome so far this season.
While Derby were poor yesterday, Liverpool absolutely tore them apart in the second half. And that was without Gerrard or Carragher. Torres is coming good and I thought Babel looked very lively.
With Man U underperforming, Chelsea not looking wholly convincing so far and a still young Arsenal side, this has to be Liverpool's best chance in years.
It'll be interesting where the second tier - Everton, Man City, Newcastle etc - finish up. They're all in amongst it at the moment and have played well, but I can't see them challenging for the top closer to the end of the season.

I have another ยฃ20 bet that Liverpool will finish ahead of Newcastle, so I can't lose (in theory).
Love a bit of friendly rivalry.
I'll book my train ticket to Manchester to collect that ยฃ20 then, eh?

shhhh no bigging up the gooners - I like everyone writing us off...
having watched us and then the villa game - it was like dropping down a couple of divisions...Cashley must miss the days when he played with a team that could string more than 2 passes together...
(jose's words after the game were a joy as always...'we deserved to win' yeah helps if u get a shot on target..lol)

Be afraid, be very afraid, by streetgirl on Sept 3, 2007 15:09:50 GMT 1, I'm all for a little shake up at the top Cracka...all for it...kinda. My only recompense was that all my bets came in for all my other games over the weekend, so I'm quids up.
I think it's going to go down to the wire and all four of the 'Big 4' claiming the top 4 slots...can't see any of the others really challenging those positions... I think it might go:
1 Liverpool 2 Chelsea 3 Arsenal 4 Man Utd
Okay, so maybe Man U will finish higher but I won't admit it, not today...not after all my closet Man U fans bombarded me night long with texts.

Thus far I reckon that's a pretty good tip for the top4. Once Rooney and Ronaldo are back I think they'll be set for a 3rd or a 4th, although if either of them get injured/stay injured them perhaps we might see them drop out for Everton or Newcastle (Tot'ham no good this year).
