I'm sure each club has to make a certain percentage of tickets available to the general public.

Nope, clubs definitely don't have to do this

Newcastle used to be season ticket holders only but they then kept a percentage aside for each match.

Can anyone get Liverpool tickets?, by a4mnt on Sept 3, 2007 15:11:24 GMT 1, You can buy tickets for lots of premiership games, but teams like Mutd, Liverpool, Arsenal, maybe Newcastle/Spurs etc generally sell out to season ticket holders etc. You may be lucky and get a single seat with a crap view and there are some public sale tix but its worse than buying a Banksy.
You can buy tickets for Chelsea quite often as they don't seem able to fill their stadium still for all games and you probably get paid to go and see Middlesborough judging by the swathes of empty seats they have behind the goals.
But Liverpool......its difficult. Got public tix for the West Ham Liverpool game last season, but had to sit in the home end with the Hammers fan. Liverpool won and I have never been so quiet at a game when we scored...I would have been lynched! And I was with a hammers fan.

Can anyone get Liverpool tickets?, by streetgirl on Sept 3, 2007 15:13:14 GMT 1, Nope...the only way in which tickets go on sale to the general public is if they don't sell out and I doubt that happens at Anfield too often.
Worse still if you're not a season ticket holder, you generally have to be a member with enough 'credits' to purchase tickets for the Class A games.
I had to turn in my Blues membership in the end...something had to give.

Can anyone get Liverpool tickets?, by rolyateel on Sept 3, 2007 16:10:28 GMT 1, being a Gooner no, I can't get tickets for Liverpool
However, if you have no way of getting legit tickets, then your best bet is to join a supporters club. I tried for years to get Arsenal tickets...and eventaully ended up going to a few games via touted tickets outside the ground (£80 a pop normally)...until my ex's dad joined me up to the Arsenal South Wales Supporters Club...now I can get tickets fro pretty much any game I want.
Try an internet search, you'll be pleasently surprised. Pick one that is either near you, or one that would have to drive past you to get to Anfield (it's normally all coach trips - and they should be able to scoop you at a pre-arranged motorway junction)
Hope this helps
...Oh, let me know what you find out, I have a fecking scouse supporting cousin, who may be interested too
