You could also check the first releases by Assassin, a band that started at the same time (le futur que nous reserve-t-il? and Homicide involontaire). They are linked to Kourtrajmรฉ who worked with JR at the begining.
A more recent one, La rumeur, especially their second release, l'ombre sur la lumiere. Great beats, good lyrics.
Even more recent, bands like Klub des 7, Klub des loosers, l'atelier, Svinkels, Peuple de l'herbe are good too.
TTC is also very good, but has a more abstract approach.
I guess that would be a good introduction...
