There are sooo many better Beastie Boys albums than 5 boroughs. Pauls Boutique has to be one of the most underrated albums of all time, Check Your Head is my personal fave, Ill Comminication is a classic too and let's not forget the daddy.... Licenced to ill.

Nirvana - Nevermind
I bought the album around the week it came out, just on a whim not knowing what to expect. This was before they'd had any airplay. I remember sticking it on in the car and being blown away immediately when 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' came blaring out. It was so raw it had so much energy. It was one of those albums that you just knew was something special. I took it into college the next day and insisted my mates listened to it and they were all taken a back by it. The rest is history, but it's not often you just come across an album like, and it will always have a special place in my heart.

Opening chords of the title track still make the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, the breadth of musical diversity, the passion in Strummer and Jones's vocals and guts to break out from the rock of Give 'em enough rope make this an album worthy of respect.
Guess what's going on my ipod in a little while as I saunter off to the post office to collect GWT.

Another album near the top of my best albums list is Aphex Twin Selected Ambient Works 85 - 92. Absolute quality.
