Aphex Selected Ambient Works 1 for me still. It's a bit obvious but I get lost in it's fuzziness every time ... class.
And pretty much anything by GAS (Wolfgang Voigt)

Yeah selected Ambient Works (1st) still does it for me everytime jellya! I'll check out GAS too.
And funny you mention that album eddie. I bought it on vinyl from a charity shop about a month ago and it had a few old clippings and promo slips in with it. The last slip of paper I pulled out was a signed cheque by the main man Cauty by way of a refund for someone. A nice find especially as it only cost me ยฃ1. The cover makes me smile too.

Hey why the exclamation mark after 63? a mere boy! haha, im 71 and first i like to get going with the Pistols compilation Kiss This or Sigue Sigue Sputnik 21st Century Boys then if.. and only if i want to calm down my absolute favourite band is Antony and the Johnsons and the album I Am A Bird Now. No close neighbours so volume number 11.

Nice One tomjedimaster. I'm actually convinced that anyone who listened to 'a strangely isolated place' would love it. It's just one of those perfect albums. If they didn't I'd demand to know why.
By the way does anyone know when the new Massive Attack album's out? I've heard a rumour ex Mazzy Star singer Hope Sandoval is appearing on one of the tracks. Now that I've got to hear. She's a gem.

I know its the obv choice, but little fluffy clouds still touches parts that other songs cannot reach.
Perpetual dawn is beautiful.
And "a huge ever growing pulsating brain that rules from the centre of the underworld" has gotta be in there witha shout for the best track name ever!!

It's worth checking, if you havnt already, their soundtrack album to The Virgin Suicides. Came out just before Walkie Talkie. Track 12 - Dead Bodies - is worth the price of the album

I first saw the Orb in Leeds in 19blahblahblah (think '91???). I did a huge amount of acid with three friends and it was a truly life altering experience. Exceptional. Awesome.
All your 'Johnny Come Latelys' were doing pills but us old timers knew better....
Even now, when I listen to them, everything takes on a slightly pink/green tinge, just around the edges...
