orbital presale, by Prescription Art on Jan 29, 2009 22:07:28 GMT 1, Yeah I was listening to a lot of American indie music... The Pixies, Mercury Rev, Mudhoney, Nirvana etc... and had a complete distaste for anything electronic (and certainly not house music). Then a friend lent me a cassette of SAW and I was completely transfixed... I had no idea sounds like that existed. I think specifically it was the bass on Ageispolis that blew my mind. Next thing you know i'm raving it up at The Orbit every week....

orbital presale, by Replete on Jan 30, 2009 3:54:29 GMT 1, I've lost count of how many times I've seen Orbital live including Tribal Gathering 97, The Eclipse festival and numerous Glasto's in the 90's. Paul hartnol's solo album is well worth a listen with some good tracks like Patchwork guilt.
And speaking of Gimmik and great electronic music has anyone heard Abfahrt Hinwil's tracks? If you like Orbital and Black Dog (my favourite Black dog track is Otaku and is one of my cherished vinyls) definately worth seeking their tracks out.
AI have released some strong audio output and I used to talk with Jacen Solo awhile back as he wanted me to do some cover artwork but we never got round to it.
I used to DJ at a lot of electronica/dance nights around the world at spots like Corsica studios and NY Sushi and have good friends who still produce some real gems like Quip, Kelpe, Point B, Coldcut, DJ Food, Mike Dred, Bitstream and Crunch.
Here's a collection of some of my treasured tracks:
uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OYusX7V1SaI
uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-s50jAWtCdQ
uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pxhp_fcaEZo
uk.youtube.com/watch?v=z5MCD34x1Vk
uk.youtube.com/watch?v=vBiobDqpf_w&feature=related
uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HutSlO4h3v4
Anyone want to post up there sonic selections? ;D
P.S any of you Megadog heads remember Craig the crazed stilt walker who used to perform there or Grace the girl with here hand made woolen dreads and Plastikman tattoo on her spine?

orbital presale, by fool4faile on Jan 30, 2009 5:27:18 GMT 1, breaking news: Orbital will be one of the main attractions on the bill of Sรณnar 2009, Barcelonaโs International Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art to be held on 18th, 19th and 20th June. Orbital, the most important group in electronic dance music in the โ90s, return to the international stage in 2009 with a tour that will give a fresh airing to all the major hits of their career, which will be an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate 20 years of cinematic techno anthems and symphonies.
The Hartnoll brothers are considered the pioneering duo in the introduction of live improvisation to their performances, a rarity in techno shows at the end of the twentieth century, which they will reproduce once again at what will be their third show at Sรณnar.
Orbital created dozens of legendary anthems between 1989 and 2004, including Chime, The Box, Belfast, Satan and Style. These anthems have influenced and inspired several generations and a vast number of musicians in the following years.
For their show at the 16th edition of Sรณnar, they guarantee their patented torch specs will appear, as will new audiovisuals to give a dash of colour to a session with no new songs and packed with all their greatest hits.
More artists on the bill of Sรณnar 2009 will be announced soon. www.loopz.co.uk www.myspace.com/orbitalofficial

I've come close to busting a few speakers with LFO by LFO. What a tune.
