First, I had understood that huge a amount of work/funds raised in relation to hiv, such that a huge number of people in the thirld world are recieving drugs that they wouldnt otherwise be recieving, thus saving untold lives.
More than I will ever achieve.
Second, and much less importantly, I am not a U2 fan - I quite liked their early work - Boy era - but it's not any where near as bad as a lot of music thrust upon us.
Third - Pud - I had not seen that vid of u2 with Pavorotti before - and I must say it made my hairs stand on end - thank you for that.

They've sucked since Pop IMO. Most would say since Zooropa, but I thought Pop was pretty good...the rest after are awful "adult light rock".

Music is decent but Bono is a self-indulgent, hypocritcal t**t. He campaigns for third world debt relief but is happy profiting from overpriced concert tickets, merchandise and CD's. I guess he is the only man allowed to profit from capitalism.

Despite every show worldwide selling out, the cost of the production nearly bankrupt the group! Regardless of what you think of him/them, the world is NOT a worse place for having them around!! Just my tuppence worth.

At least Coldplay agreed to give a percentage of ALL their future earnings to charidy once they started hitting big bucks.
