Tracks like inner meet me are truely classic.
If you've not come accross them give them a listen, you'll not be disappointed.

The Beta Band, by spenie1975 on Nov 17, 2007 22:44:22 GMT 1, They have split up now, but the lead singer Steve Mason now goes under the name of King Biscuit Time and Black Affair.
Two of the other members formed a band with lone pigeon and go by the name of The Aliens.
They where excellent live only got to see them once at the Manchester Academy but blew me away.
3 eps is probably there best work IMO

The Beta Band, by Coach on Nov 26, 2007 1:09:05 GMT 1, yeah, like them a lot. 3ep's is great. have 3 other albums too, dont know if thats all they did. hot shots 2 is the one i usually reach for. know nothing about them tho', and didnt know they had split up  great sound, very individual. agree they are well worth a listen

3Eps is the highlight of BB.
Great to see the scene in High Fidelity where John Cusack plays the Beta Band while working in the record shop.

Saw them on the final tour at home in M'boro and they were so good made the effort to get to London to see them Shepherds Bush Empire and they fookin' rocked...couple of tracks from that gig are on the DVD along with all the videos and some great band footage. Well worth the purchase.
Seem the Aliens a few times but just not in the same league IMO...Mason seems to have had a bit of a breakdown but agree the KBT work was amazing...
