THE STONE ROSES REUNION.., by discoduster on Dec 2, 2007 9:58:23 GMT 1, How long before this happens.
Seems to be the current trend for reunions, Pistols, Led Zep, Spice Girls etc. There is so much more money in concerts now than only 5 years ago, ticket prices for large venues are now around ยฃ30 at least...you do the maths!
If you'd asked me a couple years ago I would have shunned the idea but now I think along with the Pistols they would be one of ONLY bands able to genuinely get away with it.
As long as it was the complete original line up minus the horrendus backing singer/dancer and keyboard player.
The rumour mill suggests the only one not interested is Ian Brown, conincidently the most successful member! and fecking Ace on his own.
Ian Brown, Mani, Reni and the best British guitarist in the world John Squire back together?
YAY or NAY??
-DD

What you got against Cressa? Top man.
It'll never happen unless Brown runs low on blow. Even Squire's given up writing by all accounts. As for Reni - the guy ain't seen daylight in 10 years.
I'm happy with the memories - and like their hero's, The Clash - they'll lose too much cred by reforming for dollars.

THE STONE ROSES REUNION.., by brenclan on Dec 2, 2007 11:17:20 GMT 1, I remember seeing them play live circa 94 after the release of The Second Coming and to be honest it was a major disappointment. Though, to be fair, I think that around this time that the likes of Orbital were overshadowing every guitar based band with their ability to ignite the energy of the crowd.
Comeback gigs rarely live up to expectations.. however a special mention goes out to the Pixies who were amazing at Brixton Academy a few years ago.

THE STONE ROSES REUNION.., by jipsy on Dec 3, 2007 9:32:13 GMT 1, Hope it never happens. Browny and Mani are doing their own thing and that's good enough. Squire should have a good listen the The Seahorses album and realise just how talented he actualy is.

THE STONE ROSES REUNION.., by sham69 on Dec 3, 2007 12:48:08 GMT 1, Saw them twice within a week. The comeback gig at Faile in Cork and then again at Whitley Bay Icerink They were terrible in Ireland and then blew the roof off at the Icerink. Bearing in mind they were playing a week after Oasis they p***ed all over them. A truely magical evening. Fools Gold - one of the best tracks of all time.
