Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, by dave313perry on Feb 4, 2008 23:19:48 GMT 1, I dont have sky one (i have a dodgy eurobox that get everything but!!!!) so cant watch it but one of my best mates who has just returned from Afghan spent some time with Ross over there whilst doing his stint.
the videos from his headcam that he has shown me really bring reality home, another reason why iv not been on here and spending thousands of pounds on art recently.
one of the most important pieces of Documentary in the past 20 years if it is how everyone has described it to me and from what Iv read. It really is testiment to Ross Kemp for literally putting his life on the line to bring reality to our 42" plasma's!
and it really 'really' wasnt an exaggerated production, my mate told me they were getting shot at by an RPG which missed them by literally metres, along with gun fire whistling past their ears, and Ross 'literally' pissed himself.
sobering times out there, and hes just found out hes being posted to Kenya in 2009, anothyer place full of love and peace!

It's no different to any other industry in that respect.
You buy units of insurance, the more you have the better the payout.

maybe its to do with your background and financial position, although that should be irrelivant, its the only reason i could think of at the time why this guy didnt get closer to the 285k, he gave his life up

Ross Kemp in Afghanistan, by danvnuk on Feb 5, 2008 0:05:12 GMT 1, Knock me down - quite suprised to see a Pro-Armed Forces thread on here. The subjects never come up before that I can remember, but apart from Stuey and a few other ex or serving military bods I was half expecting the majority to be the sterotypical Guardian reading anti-military you associate with 'the arts'.
My Hat's off to the guys in the armed forces- I wish I'd had the balls and the application to give it a go when I was younger (bit of a lazy bastard sadly)
It winds me up something rotten to see how they're constantly getting shafted by the Government with regards to pay and equipment, accomodation etc etc .
BTW - I've been watching that Ross Kemp thing, and never thought I'd say something with Ross Kemp in was good.....but it's...err... good. Fascinating. Really brings it home.
