Can anyone recommend a good digital camera??????, by toothfairy on Mar 22, 2009 23:21:56 GMT 1, Umm, got really impatient and couldn't wait for the DMC-TZ7. Went out last week and got me a Nikon D90. A bit extravagant! My poor credit card has been suffering since.
Glad you took my advice Winter, not many people do!!! Sure you won't be dissappointed. Can't wait to see some pics.

Can anyone recommend a good digital camera??????, by scavos on Nov 6, 2010 0:21:11 GMT 1, Good call PE. I'm still very happy with my Canon G9. Best of both worlds.
On another note, can anyone advise of an ideal camera for my good mates daughter who's just begun A level photography? She's after a digital SLR for around the £550 mark (preferably including lens).

Can anyone recommend a good digital camera??????, by ricobenfico on Sept 27, 2011 15:53:46 GMT 1, OK, look for more up to date information here peeps please:
Looking for: Digital SLR camera with interchangable lenses that is in the £300-£600 range. Ideally straightforward so the wife can use it but also a bit technical so i can get the best out of it. Ideally comes with 2 lenses or indeed, the 2nd lens not being too much more expensive.
I've always been into photography but not so serioulsy in the past 5 years so well out of touch. The reason for purchase is predominantly for the soon to be arriving bundle of joy (our first) so needs to be good with people, close up's etc but would like it to be good for landscapes/cityscapes and street photo's too.
Hopefully you can help with recommendations, thanks in advance...

Can anyone recommend a good digital camera??????, by maumau93 on Sept 27, 2011 16:08:16 GMT 1, well my first DSLR was a cannon eos 450d and it is a cracking little camera i think it cost about 400, very suitable for beginners that don't know how to use DSLR's but with enough to keep you interested if you want to mess about with all the functions. hope it helps, would recomend it to anyone lookin for a beginers camera on a side note my mate is more of a nikon guy and he has a nikon d5000 which i think he got for about £600, ive tried it a few times and it is very nice with a tilt screen as-well! but im more of a cannon man, five

Can anyone recommend a good digital camera??????, by Baby Dave on Sept 27, 2011 16:31:47 GMT 1, I got a Nikon D40, maybe six months ago, its brilliant, can fault it!
I agree, the D40 is a brilliant camera! I had one for ages but then changed it for a D60. The D40 is by far the superior camera out of the two. I use a Tamron 18-270 lens which i find covers most of the ranges I need. I just need to grab me a decent macro lens and a fisheye lens.

Sony Alpha range for that price range (depending on which model you could have half the budget left over for glass) Saw a couple of models on offer last week around £250-300
I have a cracking Sony full hd camcorder brand new in box I'm selling to fund some new glass for my canon 60d
Edit: Congrats on the bundle of joy. Buy my camcorder to record those precious early days

I started out with Sony A-series and was happy for 6 or so years due to glass being so cheap on ebay, only the Canon 60D at a silly cheap price made me switch
Loads of cheap lenses on ebay available

Can anyone recommend a good digital camera??????, by mouser on Sept 27, 2011 19:02:55 GMT 1, I've also been looking for a while, the canon EOS 550D or the 600D have both been highly recomended by folk who know their stuff ( keen amatures and semi-pro's) as a great entry level DSLR. Just need to bite the bullet now and get it done.

Can anyone recommend a good digital camera??????, by ricobenfico on Dec 30, 2011 20:10:29 GMT 1, Hey guys, thanks for the suggestions above. I ended up going for a Nikon D3100 with 8-55mm lens. Once I'd decided this was the one I was going for, I discovered there's hardly any left in the country doe to supply issues from the floods in Thailand earlier in the year. Managed to track on down on Monday though, delivered yesterday. Now to practice and play around.....
Thanks again.

i hear what you're saying ...
x100 is blowing people out of the water of late.. if you're into snaps do a fd31d (can't buy em from the shop - get one off the bay and prepare to ask the question "why are they so exp ? " ). if you have time.... and can handle raw - do something like a sigma dp1 / dp2
otherwise - shoot street and low light... and have a few quid.... do a x100 - quote me on it
