O/T fake windows XP disc, by manty on Apr 9, 2009 10:34:24 GMT 1, Boys computer hard drive went
Replaced it with a new one, but for some reason didnt have the old disc, so went on ebay and bought one off an individual who had previously sold 23 of them (100 percent feedback on discs) Advertised as a genuine disc with code new in packaging, never registered etc
Got the disc which looks fine but it wouldnt boot in the laptop, tried it in another, no joy.
So emailed the guy through ebay, no response.
Thought i'd tap in the first couple of keys (code) into google, and they send you to some chinese sites, not looking good so far.
Went to microsoft and found out what to look for and have found it is indeed fake, though it has the book, the stickers, everything except it dont work and isnt genuine.
I paid through paypal, he sent via registered ( signed for) post
Can I get my money back? and if so how?

O/T fake windows XP disc, by hero on Apr 9, 2009 10:58:11 GMT 1, I am assuming that what he has done is download it from a (Removed) site-this would mean the code is already in use, but if you try installing it when not connected to the internet that MAY work....but I would still try and get my money back if this is the case, because you could of got that off the net anyway-and for free!

check your computer does fit the requirements he sets out
try and install it when not connected to wifi
get your money back
