iPhone, by arcam on Nov 9, 2007 14:37:41 GMT 1, As an aside... I'd much prefer a phone (phone calls and texts) an iPod and a camera Get back to basics I say I agree. I've had my phone years, I found new phones became more bulky and more fiddly. My phones small, tough and does what it says on the tin. I've a nano when I want to listen to music on the go.

I concur... get the right tool for the job not some swarmy variation... I might be wrong, but I'm yet to see a phone with a decent macro zoom, regardless of how good the party snaps are. even the cheapest camera has a fair macro zoom and a phone isn't going to allow me to replace my camera. The gadget show ripped it a whole new USB port, and if I had to get a new phone it would be the nokia, anyday from what I saw.
Never played with an iPod, but more than happy with the mp3/4 alternatives that the media seemingly ignores whenever it discovers the "new revolutionary and groundbreaking" apple technology (that some other less media-whorish and savvy manufacturers have been producing for years)... and none of that bothersome copyright malarkey to get round.

iPhone, by scoote on Nov 9, 2007 15:57:28 GMT 1, I've got the cash and at 6.02 today I'm planning to get one. From what I can gather the tariff includes surfing the net and the GPRS. There doesn't seem to be any other hidden extras as long as you are 'fair usage'. I.E not taking the piss and on-line all the time. Everyone else I have spoken to have completely poo pooed the idea. Thoughts do I or dont I ?? I could spend the money on the Ralph Steadman print I've had my eye on !

iPhone, by Deleted on Nov 9, 2007 17:22:36 GMT 1, I got my iPhone as I had a 3rd generation iPod (the black and white with no pics or video) and wanted to replace it. I figured that I might as well get one with a phone in it. Not happy that it's only 8 GB, but, it works great and I don't have to pack as much when I travel.

iPhone, by Philippe on Nov 10, 2007 2:59:22 GMT 1, I have an iphone and I am on my 3rd one. I have never dropped the phone it just seems to internally combust some how. They always replace it right away with no questions asked but still rather annoying. It's what happens when you buy a first gen product but atleast when the 2nd gen comes out you can just upload the program on to your iphone. My buddy also bought one then and he still has the same one with no problems...

iPhone, by buffruffly on Nov 10, 2007 9:40:47 GMT 1, I got it yesterday from an 02 shop with no real queue. I have to say, it's amazing. It's liking holding the future in your hand. I feel like I'm in minority report. I do love the Mac interface and I can live without 3G etc as most of the time I browse the internet I'm near wi-fi.

Q1 What the build quality like? Q2 How well does it handle emails in comparison to a Blackberry?

iPhone, by scoote on Nov 12, 2007 17:28:30 GMT 1, Picked mine up last Friday no queue or owt. The only thing that is rather annoying is the fact that there was no deals, wouldn't even throw a case in. Harveyn the build quality is superb, much better than the Nokia kak that I have had the misfortune to own in the past. As for the e-mails I couldn't tell you never had a blackberry.
