Banksy in Bristol, Park Street Mural, by slowmo on Feb 26, 2007 16:55:24 GMT 1, There used to be a rose in a trap by the Hare on the Hill pub near Fremantle Square. Having said that I haven't been to Bristol for a year or so, so it may be something else that you're referring to.
Happen that that'll be the one, he used to live on fremantle square

Banksy in Bristol, Park Street Mural, by stillborncrisps on Feb 27, 2007 23:43:06 GMT 1, That's interesting - how do you know that?
I also heard that he used to work round the corner from Fremantle Square in a picture framing shop on Stokes Croft. Anyone verify that?

Banksy in Bristol, Park Street Mural, by trowel on Apr 5, 2007 14:02:10 GMT 1, Is that a kosher new Cut Out and Collect that's appeared on the side of the flats just at the bottom of Meridian Place off the Triangle (next to Cannons/old Maples)? Can't miss it - about half the size of a 5-a-side goal.
Only saw it from a distance at lunch, but will down that way this evening so can take a closer look. Maybe he's back in Bristol...

Banksy in Bristol, Park Street Mural, by trowel on Apr 6, 2007 13:34:21 GMT 1, I had a closer look at it yesterday, and it does seem a little too rough to be him - the dotted lines aren't symmetrical on either side, unlike his previous Cut Outs, and the rectangles making up the dotted lines aren't very even.
Someone on the BBC messageboard has posted that it can't be Banksy as he's never hit Clifton before - I can direct anyone to a nice barcode 2 mins from my office in Clifton
And while I'm thinking of it, the first Banksy I ever saw was up near the Clifton Wine Bar, but it was painted over around 98-99 and I've never seen a photo of it since. It a nice piece on a wall about 2m in height, with a couple of rats on the ground looking up into the air where at the top of the wall another rat was flying on some sort of propeller blades with a dripping paintbrush. Ring any bells with anyone else?

Banksy in Bristol, Park Street Mural, by RetroCanvas on May 13, 2007 10:56:54 GMT 1, I was out in Bristol last night and saw this close up from the bridge. Just wanted to say that it is tremendous. I don't know how Banksy got it there. He would have had to have had a very big ladder and it's so nicely done that it would have taken him some time. And where it is, no matter what time of the day or night, someone must have been around.
Seeing it in person is a must if you can, lets hope it stays there for a while.
Retro
p.s. I did take some photo's on my phone but it's utterly pointles to post them here (they're cack basically).

Yeah, I remember that one by Clifton Wine Bar, I'm sure it's in one of his books. And if memory serves, there was a big old Joker with guns on the back of WH Smith in Clifton village (on that little road that the Hophouse pub is on)

Banksy in Bristol, Park Street Mural, by becksaboo on May 15, 2007 22:00:09 GMT 1, was on Brandon hill a few days ago, noticed a banksy tag on the ground by one of the benches. The first bench on the right of the promenade as you are looking at the tower from the south side of the park.
anybody shed some light on this, is this old news? real or not? looked a bit rough. if so was there anything there alongside the tag before or just a tag? just wondering if theres anything more to it.
cheers

Banksy in Bristol, Park Street Mural, by becksaboo on May 17, 2007 18:01:49 GMT 1, yup, think the general view is that it was a student prank as the work is rather shoddy (not sharp), in no place of interest, with no real message and the fact thank something similar was done a long time ago. Banksy is a lot better than this. Fake fake fake. Think the council are too scrared to rub it off though.
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bristol/6565997.stm
Guess no one has any info on the brandon hill banksy tag I stubbled across? Real, fake? Wondered if there was anything there previously apart from just a tag. Could be old news for all I know.
