It's always a bit dodgy when you say to someone: "I can show you some fantastic graffiti", and then you get where it was and it's been buffed or overpainted. Luckily, today that didn't happen.
Showed them a nice rat on the side of Mount Pleasant post office, and the cashpoint round the corner. Then we took a nice stroll down to Clerkenwell Road to visit the T.h.u.g.s, and jumped on a bus to Shoreditch (gawping at at the Giant Rat and TV/Window on the way). Visited HMV and Police Poodle at Cargo, then jumped on another bus down to London Bridge, where we proved Banksy wrong by posing for pictures at a place he tells us is not a photo opportunity 
I like noticing the bits of stencil that get re-used on different pieces... the bottom half of the girl at the cashpoint is also floating up a wall in Palestine.
I'm so glad my lovely friends got to see a few really good pieces while they were down here 
Edit: Why, when I write "t.h.u.g.s" in the posting box, does the word change to "drugs" in the actual posted message? That's why I've had to write it with the full stops between the letters. This board is well odd.

I went looking for thugs the other night off the back of it, couldn't even find "Back Hill" which is where it looks like on the map, then all the google thing gives you is a grid reference. Damn, left my GPS tracker at home! Plus on that map all the ones on the southbank look like you actually have to wade in the thames as far as the map is concerned,
No, in all seriousness, I prefer real directions, like "its on the corner of Rosebery avenue and Mount pleasant"
Or maybe a google earth version of this map? Is that possible. Sorry, not geeky enough like that. Just that they are much more detailed and accurate, or is that just me?
Plus, I do feel like a cheat by using a map, much more fun finding them myself, just got into a panic that they will be buffed before I find 'em!! Am addicted to them now!

It would be good if when you clicked on the markers it gave you more detailed information on the location like you said ;D

To get EXACT placing it's best to make the map as low scale as possible. I can assure you the placing of the placards are VERY accurate (well, the ones I've done are!)
Thugs is on Clerkenwell Rd, near a bus stop, on the wall of a fenced off mini car park / cr@p hole.....unless something has changed..... (i assume the fencing means it might be re-developed one day?)

Wasnt happy about the big fence stopping me getting a half way decent shot of it. Then I took Banksy's advice, thought outside the box and poked my arm through the fence and passed my camera over the top of it to get this one. . .  I think its my favorite so far, but that changes on a daily basis!
Thanks as well Mido for the tip about logging in to the map for more info, will check that out.

An Obey poster was slapped up recently (and I don't like them, sorry all the people that do! Only found out through this site who he was), followed by a stackload of Faile posters that went up over the Bank holiday weekend. Then some complete knob came along and painted this
Shows the level of intelligence. They couldn't even spell BANKSY in their panic to gain 15 minutes of "fame" GET A LIFE (and some artistic skills before attempting to give quality artists a bad name! ! !

And it could have been Faile or Banksy (or even A.N.Other) who did the banksy writing...... I imagine it was very tongue in cheek whoever did it!
Faile and banksy have both been using that pinky mauve paint recently.... ;D

When learning your knowledge points to become a black cab driver (as he is) there are a decent amount of Banksy's that he actually got tested on...can you imagine... "Tell me the shortest route, avoiding all traffic lights to Have a Nice Day, then Grin Reaper, via Copper and Poodle, round by drilling rat and stopping off briefly at cash machine"
Maybe we should hire him for the next tour, do it all in record quick time?! ;D
