Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by skelly on Feb 5, 2009 23:42:22 GMT 1, The Blue Couple by Neate is a great piece by Neate, but that is really it for me besides the Banksy originals that I always like. Horrible auction I would say overall, the charity pieces are pretty weak for me as well besides the Banksy and the Matt Small

Just noticed the write up of the history behind that is riddled with basic errors. The price is absurd as well, although i kinda hope it's not in a way as got one myself i bought at the time.

But is some of the prices pretty low?

I'd guess it is because all of these are for charity and there is no reserve so they're going to sell no matter what.
(my logic falls down though as the prostate cancer pieces in the other auction do have estiamtes)

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by dynamixx on Feb 7, 2009 1:02:03 GMT 1, Just noticed the write up of the history behind that is riddled with basic errors. It certainly is, i love how they used the word "posse" in relation to James Lavelle and Mo Wax, how very street of them. Estimate has to be ridiculous for this one surely? I'm sure I have one kicking around somewhere, if I'm honest I didn't know it was the work of Walker, pretty atypical for his style, even back then.
They're obviously reading the forum anyway as they've corrected the date now cookiemonster.

I'd put it more at Β£4.99 to Β£9.99.

i think they have sold for around Β£40 -50 in the past with LPs, but look what the Dface decks sold for last time,

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by ricobenfico on Feb 13, 2009 17:49:45 GMT 1, This auction seems like a glorified Ebay sale, but with vastly expensive listing fee's!
But I've got to say, I am very interested to see so many familiar pieces and I for one will be following the results as they come in.

www.selfridges.com/index.cfm?page=1316&articleID=12059&artname=Urban%20Art%C2%A0at%20the%20Ultralounge
February 2009 sees the launch of three very special art exhibitions at the Ultralounge in Selfridges London. Urban Art enters the Ultralounge on Friday 20 February, with all exhibitions culminating in a public auction of all the works on display on Thursday 26 February. This auction will be a first in nearly 100 years of Selfridgesβ history.
The new Urban Art exhibition, curated by Mary McCarthy, will run concurrently with Artcore and will feature works by some of the leading national and international street artists of today, including Banksy, Guy Denning, Bast, Seen, Matt Small, Rene Gagnon, Jeff Aerosol and Mimi the Clown. Several artists will be creating work primarily for the sale, such as Goldie, Ame 72, CBloxx, Inkie, Dan, Mau Mau, Eelus, K-Guy, SPQR and Kev Munday. They will be joined by auction virgins, Chu, Pam Glew, Faith 47, Klit, TRXTR, Byroglyphics, Danny OβConnor, Ben Slow and Grafter.
The Success Collection is twenty works by the leading lights of the British street art scene that will be sold specifically to raise money for the Princeβs Trust. It opens to the public on 20th February.

Dreweatts Art Auctions π¬π§, by G-Man on Feb 17, 2009 16:01:45 GMT 1, Just popped in there most of the art on display is for the Artcore exhibition of rave related posters and flyers and stuff all the street art is being displayed from Friday.
The banksy is up and looks AMAZING in the flesh well worth a look but prob best to wait till friday to see some of the street art
The Walker hand finished Ratatouille looks very very cool with the splats in blue and yellow and the Jago og looks good too
There are a fair few Banksy in the auction nice signed prints and a Heavy Weaponry canvas it will be interesting to see what prices the non-charlty stuff raises considering the market, might be a good time to bag a signed print at a good price?
