It's entitled 'The Attraction Of Liquefaction" and is 24"x36" painted in oils, acrylic and spraypaint.
It's about the desire to become liquid and warmly melt and wash away to escape the confines of the flesh and the stresses of modern life.
It's the first time I've used oil paints and I experimented a lot with different techniques to get the effect I wanted.
I realy enjoyed painting this and plan to try similar techniques to create future pieces.

I played around a lot to get those colours as they're odd combinations of spraypaint using drab greens with bizarre beiges and pinky browns to get a feel of autumn with it's harvest followed by slow decay.
This one took around 12 hours spread over two days and a lot of it's freestyled.
I've got a wall painted at the back of upper space gallery in manchester but it's a different style but well worth a look and glad you got the Aurora canvas and are happy with it.

And it does have something in common with matt Small but it's just the fact it's an abstract portrait. Small's work has a very smeared look and technique where mine is comprised of dabs, flicks and drips.
The inspiration for it is actually my hero Francis Bacons work with such unsurpassed pieces as this:
I've started work on another piece in this style but I've evolved it a bit so should be a bit more of a mix of fully formed and looser parts.
