And I'm experimenting with these at the minute so I wanted to try more detailed pieces as well as more abstracted to see the effect. I'm currently working on other pieces that are in both directions which I'll post up here in the next couple of days.

I've embellished it with metallic copper and gold paint which gives it a real nice lustre and added meaning to the piece

As for Matt Small, a totally different kettle of fish with technique. I believe he mixes his mass layers of oil with water giving his now trade mark look/feel.
Keep up what your doing as it looks fantanstic and I agree Bacon was genious.

I love Small's work and in some ways we work to the same goals but in different ways.
And you cant beat a bit 'o' Bacon ;D

Here's a closeup and the portrait changed drastically during the course of the painting as I tried lots of freestyle flicking and patternation and learnt a lot doing it I'll incorporate into future pieces.

We were commissoned to paint them in realistic skin tones, anatomical features and clothing.
Built in fibreglass and steel by Sam Clayton and Mark Jacobs the team behind a lot of the large scale Andy Goldsworthy sculptures.
It's a more complex and improved update of an earlier work by Mach entitled 'It Takes Two' that was toured round the world and sited at such places like the Louvre and outside Euston station.
They'll be sited in 2010 in Marseille and once completed they'll be pushing a full size cargo container at each other. They also may be shown in 2009 at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
