The London Police ๐ฌ๐ง TLP โข Street Artists , by poofly on Apr 30, 2008 14:02:51 GMT 1, Bape is kinda whack.
maybe its because I feckin hate monkeys. little bastards.
MASSIVE respect for Nigo though, he's an ugly cunt, but what he did back in the day to preserve the brand was excellent. Big props to his account too as he is a consultant for Nike alongside the Staple and various others.
Damnit nearly went into a full on streetwear rant.

Yes, I thought the quality was sh*te, bit tacky imo.
The red troops are better if still available.

The London Police ๐ฌ๐ง TLP โข Street Artists , by sonnysides on Apr 30, 2008 15:52:14 GMT 1, Chaz was extremely dissapointed how ADFUNTURE took short cut, after short cut, in making the Lad and Dog toy set...( I call it CHINESE GREED) It came to peoples doors with scuff marks and broken legs left and right!! Talk about dropping the ball!! If you take the time to do a little scrubbing of the black marks and re-construct the legs a bit, then you can enjoy the figure more than the way they were sent to people!

The London Police ๐ฌ๐ง TLP โข Street Artists , by skylarkin on Apr 30, 2008 17:17:43 GMT 1, Sorry to go off topic, and although this will proberly look like im starting a flaming war (im not honest) but can somebody explain, how knowing that these guys are flipping Banksy art and other collectables, that they are being recommended as a site to buy from?
Having waded through archives of posts that frown and scorn flippers to the extent that jihad is nearly announced in some cases, that a website at least from the outside looking in (I do want to emphasis this as well) that is flipping products goes unscathed?
Can somebody explain why this is?
Again I am not starting a flaming war, but I am intrested in how this works....
peace and love

Should that analogy not be Andipa or similar? (rather than the print houses POW/BRP ie gallery that buys and sells for profit)

But shirley these guys get permission to sell for the artist? I do not see POW or BRP selling old art for a profit. Ie there is a shopping trollies on there that they are selling for $3000 surely this is flipping? Or is flipping based on a time scale when being sold ie a person buys it from POW and then sells it on ebay for ยฃ2500 for a quick profit? What is the gentlemans agreement on selling-on popular art is I guess what Im asking....when does it no longer become flipping and just another product to sell..?

The London Police ๐ฌ๐ง TLP โข Street Artists , by moleman on Apr 30, 2008 18:12:45 GMT 1, i asked the same question once and got the answer 2 years. which seemed a little strong, but i see your point pow and brp do have permission blah blah but the artist could just sell there own if need be. pow still make profit but if you read it like that and all agree flippers are scum well. Think of all the listed galleries and ebay has its own sub menu on this very site.

The London Police ๐ฌ๐ง TLP โข Street Artists , by sonnysides on Apr 30, 2008 22:07:24 GMT 1, Definitely a valid point. I just got in touch with the gallery and they said there is one set of ap's left and about 30 black and whites.
I also heard that The London Police, Flying Fortress, Pez, and Galo have a group show in LA on May 17th at the Black Maria gallery in case people were looking for canvases!! If you're in the states this should be a great show and a chance to get an OG. Hoping to get one myself from Chaz and Fortress. You can contact the gallery to be put on the preview list.. blackmariagallery.com/

The London Police ๐ฌ๐ง TLP โข Street Artists , by blackmaria on Apr 30, 2008 23:49:22 GMT 1, Here We Grow
Black Maria Gallery, in collaboration with Aphrodisio records, announces Here We Grow, a show of new original works by:
The London Police Flying Fortress Galo Pez
WHERE: Black Maria Gallery WHEN: May 17 - May 28 OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, May 17, 7-11 pm
The Flying Fortress prints will be released at the opening.
The artists will collaborate on a live painting at the gallery, which will then be auctioned off on e-bay.
10% of the proceeds will go to Monkey Sanctuary Trust - a unique environmental charity dedicated to promoting the welfare, conservation and survival of primates (www.monkeysanctuary.org).
The London Police is a collective based in Amsterdam. They have been working together for several years to bring their Street Art to cities all over the world, and they've been quite successful. They push Urban Art a huge step away from graffiti tagging toward a unique brand of symbolic urban communication.
Flying Fortress, born and raised in Germany, is fortified with all sorts of funk and measure. The bold lines, colors and compositions are unmistakable. You don't want to miss the invasion.
Galo is an Italian artist whose work has developed into a civilization of creatures that are sad, angry, curious and confused. He wanders the planet, performing, putting on workshops and exhibitions and chronicles his experiences on the walls where he works and resides.
Pez is a graffiti artist from Barcelona. He began painting graffiti in the late 1990's, and over time his work has morphed into the pez (Spanish for fish) character he is known for today.
Black Maria Gallery: 3137/3139 Glendale Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90039 Tel: 323.660.9393 web: blackmariagallery.com Email: info@blackmariagallery.com
