There appears to be almost as many threads posted about Micallef here as there are Banksy's (Cant help wishing if members could post to Micallef's forum)
And there are numerous request to swap Banksy with Micallef !!
Any thoughts?

No wear near IMO, its just that micallef is the latest investment winner so theres lots of talk from people who are interested in financial trends and people who are investing, it will reach a peak and quieten down

I think most of Micallefs inflated prices are down to the hype of a few members on here. You know who you are!

Maybe a little to do with the hype, but its more to do with recent Sotheby's auctions and His show.
Still Regretting Selling my JD but happy with what i bought with the Dollar!!!

Its difficult to put a cap on Banksy's art and prices as a street artist, you could argue there is no cap as he is the pioneer of street art who has put it on the map and into mainstream art world?
although im sure there has been others, im just too young to know!!! ;D

I can easily see it reaching over 6k, probably will before the September show(if one moves). There are only 95 copies of this print(+AP and PP), it is Micallef's signature work, and many do not have your obvious disdain for giclee prints.
All in all, I think Micallef has more potential than Banksy in the long run.

I agree that there is a bit of hype, but I tend to think the majority of the encouragement from forum members has been to ensure the fencesitters bought before the prices got too high. Too late now though.

Probably because 21c love is a much better print than the ones that Laz is knocking out at the moment.

Micallef paints pretty pictures with cheesy psedo political comment..he's broke no boundaries, doesn't push the medium he uses forward, hasn't had any exhibitions of note, came 2nd in a annual portrait competition sponsored by an oil company !, got picked up by Laz and flogged a few paintings to city boys.
Nice work, but that's it. Banksy, Blek, Fairey etc etc.. all have carved a place in art history. Micallef has merely scratched a little footnote in it.. if that.
